I'Ve knocked off more in one go with a 12GA, so the incident above will not reduce the population much

They'll be right Suze, they'll just swim out of the stormwater drain to the closest waterway and resume foraging. It's not like they're cheetah cubs and have to learn how to hunt off mum.

Then some cheetah cubs learning how to hunt can come and snack on them at their leisure...
