When I see a jet skier I feel quite sorry for him. To know that this poor individual has forked out a motsa on what has to be the worlds most useless vehicle.

Have you noticed how they burst around in front of folk? Do they really think they we think they are cool?

I tried a jetski once on the Gold Coast. A workmate had one. It was fun for about 5 minutes.

I thought about buying one for those days that there is no wind. Thankfully I rented one first and was shocked that they were in 15 minute time slots! (and expensive too) can't remember the price...

Anyways after 7.5 minutes I was bored but pushed on till they waved the red flag.(to get my moneys worth)...

Never again would I bother.. I too feel sorry for the poor suckers that have bought one, I think most do one season then take up room in the shed there after.

And yes they are noise pollution!!!

I went to launch the boat last saturday, very busy, and this d!@khead jetski left his `vessel` tied up at the launch ramp about 2 metres out, obviously leaving no room for anyone else to use the ramp!??? I asked some crew whos is this and they say `dunno its been there for ages.`
So it was up to me to move the ski, I hope he is good at untying tripple granny knots!

We have the same at our local ramp where they quickly jump the line infront of boatmen they have no respect nor care about right of way in reguards for passing vessels..
In some instance there is boats circling to dock and the jetskiers just drive up beside the boat which is being pulled out of the water and expect everyone waiting to let them in.I nearly seen a scrap because of it.

but the old boaties sorted them out quickly and put them in there place.
Just do what the old guys do don't help them don't give way to them, and tell to wait like everyone else at the ramp.

Trailer line up gets the priority, you ain't got your trailer with a driver on the ramp, ready to winch on, you bloody wait til you do, or go and get your trailer and "line up"[}:)]
They soon get organised then

I could imagine them to be fun to go somewhere with a few mates, like around here there are a lot of small islands not too far away. Racing each other out there with enough gear to camp for a day or two would be cool. Just cruising around aimlessly for fun would get boring fast.

I hate them most when I'm out on the SUP enjoying the quiet, just the lapping of the ripples on nose as it moves through the water. Then you hear this annoying sound in the distance...

Of course, on Seabreeze, we don't generalise about people based on their chosen sport....

Jetskis can be a problem for dugongs & turtles in the sea grass areas.

- Lately I've noticed people using their high powered ski boats out in the bay, for no other reason than to drive really fast! IMO, these are more of a pain in the arse......and a waste of fuel!

What happens on the Gold Coast, stays on the Gold Coast.

So no, I did not tell them about riding a jetski.

I think I'd prefer to tell my Mother I was out riding a kite rather than out riding a pole
