I was towing a white 10 feet long fibreglass dingy/tender with light blue interior between Swansea and Newcastle last night Thursday 6th April when it broke free un-noticed. My bad as I had my mind on other things and did not see it go. My guess with the NE wind is that it is now on the beach somewhere between Blacksmiths and Redhead.

I am also guessing the first persons to find her will be surfers hitting the water early for an Easter Friday surf. Any information about the boats whereabouts - or demise - would be extremely appreciated. I have a 4wd, so if it is too big to row her off I will still be able to recover her. If someone has already got her return would be worth at least a few beers! It would make my Easter to get her back.

Well at least it looks like there is going to be waves in the morning. If you come across the dingy, after you get a quick tube or two. please call me on 0411 390 894. Thanks, Shane.

At first I thought you were towing it on the road and didn't realise you'd lost it.

You were towing it with a boat weren't you?

Yes, towing the dingy behind a sailing yacht.

Still.a mystery. At least I did not spot a heap of debris off Redhead bluff.

After sailing back from Newcastle and looking at my path and wind/coast angles I am thinking that it might have even gone way south. Maybe even the rocky coast just short of Catherine Hill Bay?

Unfortunately no blondes (Although that may have been last weekend!). Just the usual anxiety attack heading back to Newcastle. Best thing was I was worrying about nothing. When I got there the surf was pumping. Although crowded at first the vibe was good. A few solid waves and the loss of the dingy does not feel like the end of the world anymore.
