margarets is a big wave, powerful and for experts, wind conditions vary but certainly enough wind to get plenty of wavesailing and if your interrested in surfing then your in heaven.

gero has many wave breaks from beginner to expert, lots of wind from Sept/Oct to March April, water is warmer, wind more consistent and stronger, you'd probably sail more in Gero than Margs (anyone disagree?)

MR is the nicer town/area depending what your into and the climate is cooler, and environment greener

gero is more a rural mid west town, drier and more arid environment, great fishing, great weather for 9 months of year but can get very hot
There's lots more to say, best to get some other perspectives

you couldnt have said it any better hardman
if it was me making the move it would be MR as for climate, scenery, lifestyle and of course the waves being a surfer but windsurfing ability im not sure about mainbreak and mainbreak seems like the only place the windsurfing action happens GERO seems to have beginner to expert sailing spots and also some good surfing spots but as for living there...hmm... dont take this info as the right way coz its only my thoughts...

Hi feerless,
Hardman gave pretty good description

You would definitely sail a lot more in Gero as it is windy almost All the time....
but if you are into surfing as well ..then you 'll surf a lot more in Margs...

i will prefer Margareth just because the area is nicer ..
but if you just want to windsurf regardless of the the rest...go to Gero

Yeah, Gero rocks, and the bonus is you can stop in at cervantes and Lancelin on the way back.

I miss Lancelin
