Does anyone know if they will open up Myki payment to shops? So you can pay for small items with the Myki card...
In Tokyo, their equivalent to Myki was much faster, more reliable, and worked within a 0-20cm radius zone, you didn't have to "touch-up". It was more like an instant scan... Rather than standing there rubbing the card onto the machine, like some sort of slow sexual act!

But, Tokyo's Myki equal - you could use it at pretty much all the convenient stores, and supermarkets... You get your coins together and a few notes, and jump dump them onto the card... Then you just use the swipe card for all those incidentals... No fiddling around for loose change... Fast and instant...
Visa Paywave is good. But different & similar at the same time...
