I draw your attention to the comment around 1.27 "wheelie bin obviously dumped by local resident " Really .More likely some scumbag thief/vandal that thought it would be funny to chuck it in the harbour .there is no excuse for this type of recklessness in putting together some kind of Comm bank 'Look at us aren't we good corporate citizens " video and the knob who put it together should have picked up this fopar.
Nice that they could have a day off to 'do their bit " while the rest of us slave our arses off to pay for their crazy fees/charges and outrageous margins on interest rates .Sorry but when it comes to banks my cup is much less than cup half empty.
ahh 3 stubbies down 7 to go

Yes.... why should they give up a weekend & clean up some one else's crap & rubbish.

They should have left it there so I can cut my foot on it next time I'm swimming/diving/sailing/windsurfing the harbour.

Soooooo inconsiderate.

So, Bank of Queensland lost $91 million in the last six months.

I guess that was just poor business practices brought about by their own greed ?

If they had made $91 million that would have been immoral business practices brought about by their own greed ?

I bet if you asked an Icelander or a Greek if they would rather have savvy and profitable banks or benevolent and broke banks they would have an answer

Are you going to take your money out of Comm bank and put it into BOQ based on comm bank making and BOQ loosing ??????

Did they not think of the "bottom of the Harbour" schemes promoted by various financial institutions in the 90's. Is that irony???

Corporates love that ****. Like that puke fest where all the CEO's sleep outside for a night and then say they've got a greater understanding of what it'd like to be homeless

^^^Cynical Much

What about doing something to help others because they want to

Perhaps we should just get the Labs to tax those nasty CEOs more, so everyone has an exactly equal share

Was I the only one to spot the "weedy sea dragon" at the 1.57 mark ?
Rare around the world but common around Sydney.

haha u whine up about the wrong person, lol

i am a full time volunteer with salvation army , father dave ( feed the homeless) and a long term member of landcare Australia and scouts

i am trying to get a visa to travel/work Senegal ( Africa ) where i wont be getting paid.

while i am young ,no family( wife or kids) and property i try to do the best i can, because i know like other and yourself , life get a bit hard later in life and i wont be about to give as much.

CBA made $3.36 billion last year , to pay the rent for the boat and scuba gear would be maybe $100K ( guessing) , which is then tax deductible .

and they only do it because it environmental advertisement

they wouldn't do it unless they had deal that everything is plasted with CBA logo

Perhaps if they hid less of their business in the Cayman islands then they would pay more tax in Australia and the government could clean the harbour themselves....

ps If you've complained about the carbon tax here on the basis that you hate all taxes, then you can't agree to this

pps If you change this thread to be about the carbon tax then you are a douche...

ppps my first ps didn't change this thread to be about the carbon tax. just saying/

LOL... Good on you for participating... Doing something...

It is so easy to find the negative in things, e.g.

- Yes, I'm going to miss breakfast so I can understand what it's really like to live in an African refugee camp!

- Like that puke fest where all the CEO's sleep outside for a night and then say they've got a greater understanding of what it'd like to be homeless

- They are still sleeping in $500 sleeping bags

They are doing something. Is it the CEOs who claim to have had the experience, the media who clain the CEOs have now had the experience, or your perception of what the CEOs are thinking/feeling?

What would you guys say if they did nothing? They are greedy? Don't deserve what they have? It's not fair and so on?

Fund raising is difficult, and charities do things to distinguish themselves, be it moustaches, pens coloured like jeans, red noses, daffodils, pink ribbons, sleepouts, or other events without the "stuff"... Respect to those that do something... It is so easy to do nothing...

No, pugwash, your totally right on this. They're getting stuck in while others do nothing. They're giving up they're free time, just to help the community and demonstrate to others that CEO's are just ordinary good people with the interests of the whole being uppermost in they're minds. Sure they've got branded T shirts on but that doesn't mean that the bank is trying to position itself to gain good will from the community, no no no that is just negative thinking and therefore wrong.
