Do you have crabs? Are you a crab? Do you look like a crab? do you walk like a crab? What is crab about you?
A geographic location relative to your crabness can be selected if more information is provided.

I once heard about a crab that came all the way from Darwin to Perth on a crutch.

Ooooooooohh,.. that's a difficult choice.
Let me see now,... Sunny days, nice beaches, cheap pineapples and other yummy fruit, lots of scantily clad girls, and lots of places to sail, fish and swim,..
versus
overcast cloudy and freezing days, mouldy fruit fresh out of cold storage a week ago, grumpy old tarts rugged up in overcoats,.. and almost nowhere to sail.
Now let me think about that one.
I wouldn't want to rush in and make a rash decision.

WHO SAID THAT! BIFFFF! Ooooww!

If you windsurf, kite or surf you'd be mad to pick anywhere other than Perth or Geraldton surely.
I say that as you have not mentioned that money is problem, or you have to live East or north or near whatever

wind sports definately better in WA. Brisbane is closer to the highly populated areas on the east coast.(for work reasons).??? Huge boating industry in Queensland , leisure and commercial.

It's gotta be Perth then.

1 Good family place to live? Yes it is.

2 1 hour drive from airport max? Yes. Guildford airport for international or domestic flights.
Jandakot airport for training or private flights. Look up "Royal Aero Club of W.A." for hire or training. Numerous others.

3 overlook the ocean or close to ? 50 Km of coastline. (but expensive if you want to live on it.)

4 close to a city ? Well Perth is a city. You can live right in it.

5 Large marine enviroment marina etc? Fremantle Port and a number of marinas up & down the coast.

6 good sailing kitesurfing surfing .? Probably the best in Australia, either in Perth or within half day drive. (Lancelin, Geraldton, Margaret River, Blah blah blah.

7 Sun on me back? So much you will be bitching about it.

Not that I know of any kiting spots outside of Wellington Point or Brisbane I've been told, I would suggest Western Australia for all the great winds, and the amazing spot I heard it is.

I'm certain most of the guys on here are traveled and know spots well.
