Hello All.

Just joined the forum and have been lurking around... decided I should take a moment to say hello..

I am a big music lover... I am currently on a search for some new music... what I have is great but I love indi artists and I find the best way to find them is through people

So Ill share one with you and hopefully you will share back..

My fav at the moment is Dallas Frasca... Blues music... she has a voice that kicks you in the guts and I love it!

She has just released a new song... Strong Man.. You can listen to it on her myspace along with other songs

myspace.com/dallasfrascamusic

Oh and I love music from all genres so please bring on the indi artists!

And seeing that your in search of new music i thought i would recomend you a cool site, Its called last FM (www.last.fm/) its kinda like making your own music station, U have a libary, music and artistsyou like, but the site does this cool thing where it recomends artists, from those that are in your libary,

Dono if it makes sence. but its pretty cool,

if you make an account be sure to add me as a friend so we can share music between one another.. (user name jord070)

thanks

Yo Queeny - you might like Abbie May from Perf. She goes solo and with 2 other bands ('the Rockin Pnuemonia' and also 'The Fuzz'). Awesome ballsy blues voice. Check it out.

I remember watching a wide world of sports article on Iva Davies and how much he loved windsurfing (he said it saved his life)
Still windsufing Iva??do you have a seabreeze login?

I have had a ritual for the last 15 odd years where I celebrate a great sail in my 90 min drive home singing along to masterfile the whole way home (in my best psycho fan voice)

I love indi music too..... I have found this website very good for finding new music and bands...

http://rateyourmusic.com/

I especially like how you rate albums you like or dislike, and then it will show you people have similar tastes too you... then using this you can look at their top albums and find stuff you have not heard of....

some of my favorite albums/bands that I discovered through here are :

Slint - Spiderland
Neutral milk hotel - In an Aeroplane over the sea
Sufjan Stevens - Illionis
Arcade fire - Funeral
Clap you hands and say yeah
Eels
Explosions in the Sky
GodSpeed you black Emperor
Interpol
Bright Eyes
Elliot Smith........

too many to name...

Yikes, I have some Italian Ska burned into my head that was played for me by an Italian guy I used to know in Africa. Ska-P. Strewth. I thought I liked Ska, but not so sure after that.

I met Iva Davies one day at The Alley at Currumbin. He was keen for a sail but said he wasn't up to going out in the surf at the time so I gave him directions to the broadwater. That would have been almost 20 years ago at a guess.
