I'm boarding in Queenstown In August and will be going to Treble Cone, Cardrona etc I heard that you could buy a NZ super pass that enabled you to ski all these areas. However I've phoned up a few places and they've told me I can only get this as part of a package i.e accomodation etc is this true? What are my alternatives just turn up on the day and get a day pass?

I have used that pass without the package. Was a few years ago, things change?? Go to the website and check direct with the mountains.

Don't bother with Remarkables.

Apart from the drive up there it isn't!

Remarkables and Coronet are owned by one company and you used to get a pass that was vaild for either. They had a 5 day pass which was open for 7 which was cheaper than an individual day pass.
Then I think Cadrona and Treble had another pass.
But that was a couple of years ago.
Their websites should tell ya.
Go to Cadrona when you can, awesome mountain.

I think there is still an agency there in town that can sell you that pass by itself. I already got mine for September through the accommodation and flights package. It's going to be great fun.

Just go and buy it when you arrive, you can get it in Queenstown itself when you get there, any tourist agency or info center or on the slopes. Same price. If you buy it in town you will save yourself few minutes waiting in the line when you arrive to the slopes.
You can also get them bundled with bus trip to and from the fields (I think) if you are not renting a car.

The travel agents in Perth will try to sell you a package with a lot of stuff you don't need. I always put my trips together myself, book on the web (flights and accommodation) and sort the rest when I get there. I recommend to do a bit of research into rental shops. I ski and most of the shops do not have the kind of gear I like but if you look hard enough you'll find what you need. Do not expect to find decent boots in any rental shop, buy your own if you're keen.

I think the SuperPass covers all areas. Check these links for more info:
