I have a lovely 7 month old kelpie and she just loves to get down and dirty, digging in my garden..... driving me nuts!!!! Any suggestions for how i can stop this bad behaviour in its tracks....

Land mines randomly scattered around the garden.

(1)hession bag, length of rope, brick, local pond.

(2)substitute items in (1) for crab pot and local creek.

(3)ask doctor harry.

Jord is on to something with poo in the hole - worked for us... Pepper Not sure why it needs seasoning

Short of this, toys, toys and toys... and more toys, stimulation, excercise etc etc - much like us windsurfers... we need our TOYS She is probably a little bored and at this age mischief is king

BTW, mustard on the legs of furniture works wonders...

Lots of exercise and plenty of toys and stimulation for the dog is the only way to prevent the holes. Digging holes, according to my dogs vet, is done out of boredom.

I suppose kiterdan's video shows stimulation, buts that's not what I had in mind.

BTW kiterdan, I won't ask how you came to search and find that nasty little video clip on the tube

WTF kiterdan... thats one pooch in need of the vet

hahahaha easy solution, only takes 5 minutes, results are seen immediatly.

Both Dog and Hubbie sound bored, more toys needed for both, More walks and exersize for both and only tell them off when you catch them in the act. If it's after the act theyre little brains cant put the act and punishment together.

If i was going to chop anything's legs off i would have got a cat I ventured out to bunnings (my favourite shop since home ownership) and got some chicken wire and tent pegs, so maybe this might work..... hopefully i won't have to cover the entire yard in it greenroom there is some work for you when you get back.... she has got down to the retic and has pulled the junction box off the wall and exposed some cables...... sorry

Barbie, obviously he didn't sink the retic or secure the junction block correctly, well maybe he did, but it wasn't Kelpie proof
You have one of the greatest dogs going, top choice. She will prove to be very loyal the best ever watch dog
You have to be tough on her, make sure she knows your not happy when you find a new hole. being a pup,she thinks you have a great yard to play in
Lots of full boar play time with her will slow this digging holes trend down. get lots of old toys, tennis balls and stuff and walking with interaction other dogs, also a great cure.

Not really. People think "i don't wanna feel that again" so they stop what they're doing. Animals just get angrier so you have to zap them again... and again... and again....
