If thats all they had to change the whole case is boolcrap imo.

Men at Work are not the only ones to have done it, in fact there is a very recent one from an Australian artist who I will not name that uses another nursery rhyme at the start of his song and its much more clear than that one.

And wasnt it only found out after the question had been raised on Specs and Specks? If that question wasnt asked on the TV show would the court case still have gone ahead? I wouldnt think so.

I think Men at Work were unfairly drilled on that!

To be honest, I could never identify the similarity between the flute in Down Under and that farkin kookabarra song/rhyme wtf.

The girl who wrote the Kokaburra tune has actually passed away... Not sure on full details, but it was part of a Girl Guide competition I think... And today, the royalties rest with a company... not with the girl, or her family... Pretty certain the company is not part of the family, and not part of the Scout Association / Guide Association either.

So "The Greedy Company" somehow owns the rights to the Kookaburra song. The Company and it representatives are another case of greedy farkers gone wrong!

Ended up costing the life of a good bloke who enjoyed living in Carlton Victoria, enjoyed teaching people music...

"The Greedy Company" just wanted more money...

Yeh that's what I heard.

To be honest I can't notice the similarity...
Every song on the radio today sounds the same, surprised it isn't lawsuit galore.

And from what I read Greg Ham was devastated by the decision. Saying he'll be remembered for plagiarism etc. Don't think that's true though. Everyone knows his tune and loves it!

The guy who was running Larrikin Music Publishing "retired" after the court case.

He must be happy with the outcome and prob. made enough money out of it?
I know I couldn't sleep at night..

Larrikin Music only purchased the copyright to the song for fark all so they could make some quick cash by suing Men at Work

It's there. Just have to have a damn good ear to hear it. Must say that I didn't pick it up until it was pointed out.

Same, I was watching Spicks and Specks when the question came up. The thing is the same could be said for alot of songs, I want to mention one but I dont want it to go public so I wont say what song it is.
