Hey cheers for the kind thoughts guys. (Just the Pink Lake brigade sn

, but work with all firies)
It's been an all round team effort with a group of outstanding people.
Been pretty hectic here and saw the TV for the first time yesterday. Lots of media hype too, but it is pretty grim.
Our family farm was spared in the Scaddan area. (went 3kms north of it)
Freddie's death was a huge kick in the guts, as we have grown up together and both my boys played footy in his team.............. The 3 Internationals that were killed were my neighbours seasonal workers for harvest. My heart goes out to all.
The main Cascade fire covered an area from Lancelin to Mandurah 20kms wide, to understand the ordeal. 100kmh winds and 42 degree temp made it impossible to keep up with. Standing crops of wheat slowed it down only slightly.
Really nice to take a break with the fresh crews that rolled into town to replace us on the fire line and help us out. A HUGE THANKS!!!!!
Back to it tomorrow. Monday looks very grim again due to high winds and temps!!!! We still have 2 fires that are not contained.
We are now being very well looked after and I'm humbled by the generosity of everyone.
Many thanks.
