I confess ...i'm an addict I can't sit and watch the TV.... i have to be doing something.I find it a great way to keep my mind occupied and my reflexes sharp.
I probably spend as much time doing this as the average person watches TV.

Main games i play are COD4 .First person shooter with awsome graphics .You gotta be real sneaky and paranoid to excel at this game....
And IL2 a WW2 combat flight simulator which is very realistic ..Takes time to master (i'm still at that part) Takes patience and skill and knowledge of the aircrafts capabilities to get an advantage on other players.Keeps me going for hours Would be a nice one for you RC pilots out there.

So anyone else into online gaming and what are you playing if your are?

I used to play a lot of Age of Empires - I love war strategy games - although my favorite was Dark Reign.

The killer though was Diablo II LOD. That was soooo addictive - nearly got divorced over that one. Even got to the point of going home for lunch just to sneak in a few magic find runs. The makers of Diablo have recently released Hellgate London which used a lot of the same principles. Apparently very good, but with young kids and my kiting addiction I haven't got a hope.

COD, Unreal Tournament and the shooters are great for gaming nights with everyone in the same room. Have done a few where we start at midday and go through until 3am. You try to go to sleep but can't your head is just spinning, eyes flashing, pulse racing - its nuts. I can see why there are issues with epilepsy.

[Edit] Also - My 18 month old has a serious neuromuscular condition that will effect his mobility and confine him to a wheelchair for what will probably be a pretty short life. I am hoping that pretty soon I can get him on the computer/playstation and teach him to whip my butt - at least it will by my excuse to be able to play computer games again! His older brother can go and kick a ball with mum

Hey general have you tried IL2 Sturmovik 1946 ?
Best flight sim ever I,m talking bullet holes in you windsheild.Holes in you wings where you can see the framework and the ground through.Engine fires , fuel leaks.Busted bearing noises when your engines stuffed..And landing on a aircraft carrier in a Corsair is one of the most nerve wracking and challenging things i've ever done in a PC game

Used to play MechwarriorIV. Great 1st person shooter stuff with lots of weapons selections etc. Got into all the clan stuff. Great game, but then I decided I wasn't getting enough exercise and got into kiting. COuldn't really be addicted to 2 things and survive. So MWIV got the flick.

I got xbox live. Its pretty good. Mostly played halo3 because so many people have it, and its easy.
But now i have GTA4. Which is wicked. I've played way too much in the week I've had it(if it was windy i wouldn't be), but its soooooooooo huge, and realish. And running over people is fun[}:)]. Apparently that has a good multiplayer part, but I'm doing single stuff at the moment.

You need "IL2 1946 forgotten battles" it has all the expansion packs...ace fighters and pacific battles. Then you need to download and install the " 4.08 patch"
To find servers you will need "Xfire" which finds servers for all your installed games.A good joystick helps too..i have a logitec extreme 3d pro and that works fine. The aussie and kiwi servers aren't busy most nights. But you can luck out some nights and find 10 or more pilots dogfighting or campaigning.Other than that some of the yankie servers can have 40 or more playing at once and lag doesn't seem to be too critical as everyone sets thier network settings in the game to 56k.
Might see you in there aye ,i use the same name

The only online game I play regularly now is Dawn of War and its expansions, currently on the Soulstom expansion. I like it a lot. Good graphics, great voice acting and wide variety of strategies to win.

I have Company of Heroes which is a similar but newer game. However I am not much good at it and my computer blew up, so I am relegated to playing on a laptop which can't play CoH very well.

I actually enjoy playing the Wii more than anything else. We recently bought a Wii Fit and its quite good. I am doing some of the exercises and its better than the gym. Plus the skiing and boarding games are great. I am as crap at real snowboarding as I am at Wii snowboarding. Both hurt my ankles too!

Yeah pinball machines are great. The RSL club up the road has a couple of them. One is a Williams machine, who make the best tables. However I can't imagine my wife agreeing to having on in our place and you can't play it online againt others.

Team Force 2 is a fun empty your head and fave fun in a team environment, cartoon like characters, The Heavy packs a mini gun, The Sniper is an Aussie with a slouch hat and shades, Demo man has pipe bombs and sticky bombs that detonate on command, The Spy is like that French actor from the movie Assassin, he can cloak invisdible, assume an opposition player, either stabbing the opposition to death or sapping / vandalising enemy artillery like machine guns and transporter pods.

It's way fun and you get killed heaps :)

Cheers GT
