WA University has a breeding program for ostriches, but are having trouble getting the male ostriches to donate.

Trying to get a sperm sample from an excited 2.7m tall, 150kg animal is proving difficult and dangerous

I'm having extreme trouble trying to understand why humans know how ostriches should masturbate better than ostriches know themselves. Sounds like the result of some weird porn.

i thought only humans, monkeys, apes and gorillas were the only ones who c*m for pleasure.
forgive me if i am wrong, but if the ostrich's are getting any pleasure from there human taught naughtiness.. why would they care to do it? get what i mean? seems kinda pointless and is probably why they dont do it in the first place.

and ya... getting off on one leg.. erm.. tricky?!

Just because the ostrich is has been taught to masturbate doesn’t mean it’s learnt from its own sexual enjoyment, could have involved electrical shocks therapy, perhaps water boarding torture or even just giving the ostrich a linseed flavor schmacko for doing it - well you get the drift.
