I like the idea of a Sports section.....but I guess Laurie has to work out his strategy - is it to be the king of all forums or just wind and wave related ones.. I would give it a vote though and support it.....I like nothing better than a good bit of friendly banter / biffo using your keyboard over a game.

There would be plenty of websites and forums for all those sports. Of course the issue with those sites is they would be very popular and have their regulars who like the way things are. So if you want to make a post about the seagull vs the devils game, there is probably a thread for it with 200 posts of 'expert' opinions.

Maybe if you want to discuss AFL here, instead of having heaps of threads here you just have one AFL discussion thread. There are many people here that don't really care about AFL. They don't care who won what or not. Its irrelevant.

This forum would lose its character and focus if we had sub forums for people chasing balls around paddocks. This country is obsessed by with people chasing balls around paddocks. Perhaps in 1000 years historians and philosophers will discuss how people long ago had competing religions based on the same theme of chasing balls around paddocks.
