Well, I'm both angry and kinda relieved at the moment. Car got busted into while I was kiting (was only out about 20mins before rain was coming, but it was good). And sort of happy because the left my $300 sunnies in the glove box (which they went through, as it was opened), my phone, and my other kite in my car.
I probably have all of this because someone spotted them and scarred them off (cheers mate (removed your name, not sre if you would want it here), if you read this).
Out of all the stuff they could steal, you won't believe what they did. My bumbag. I'm a lifeguard, and i need it for work, which is annoying. Lucky nothing of real value in there. I hope they like bandaids[}:)] (hopefully they will eventually need more than bandaids)
After some angered thinking of how I would love for them to die, I recon I had a good idea. Mr AWESOME got there number plate. Which was handy for when I told the police. But we could start our own little number plate list, and if one of us sees a plate on the list, the police could be rung, and hopefully they would get sorted.
Maybe we could even get one of them busted (I know it'll probably be a slap on the wrist and off you go job, but even that would be worth it), wouldn't that be good.

So, the plate was
1BLH 212 attacked to a Golden VT model (or upwards) Commodore Sedan.

If I see 'em this side of the continent......I'll friggin'[}:)].......(tell someone!)

Guessing I could save my breath, I doubt the'll be fleeing the state for getting caught with a bum-bag!

Good onya for using the internet for something practical! I hope they get theirs!

I was told they would "Get back to me". If I don't here from them tomorrow, I'll ring them on wednesday.
The car could have been stolen anyway.

I think they are probably too busy doing proper police work. You know - like getting their daily quota of speeding tickets etc.

Honestly, I don't think they can be bothered going through all the paperwork involved - even if you wanted to press charges and really pushed them to do so.

Anyway the crim's would just get a slap on the wrist. Probably not even get much worse if they killed someone with this sentencing bull%#it we now have - wish the judges, polies etc would just tell the truth about the reasoning behind the leniency shown now days - admit that there is not enough room in the gaols and they don't want the real crime rates to be reported - a very high proportion of crime goes unrecorded.

Cynical tonight, aren't I

You used to be able to request a registration number search to find the name and address of the owner, don't think you can anymore though.

No, not in Australia, not now we have "privacy" laws. There is a Euro country that still do though, in fact I believe they have a website and all, so if you don't like the way someone was driving you can actually hunt them down, legally, and tell them what you think of them... opens up some scary possibilities of "stranger danger", but it does apparently knock "road rage" on the head.

My car was broken into today at Leighton, probably by the same people.
The bastards stole my wallet , phone and keys and smashed in the window of my car. All told its probably going to cost me $1000.
Until then the day had been epic with great wind and waves but now all I can think is bad vengeful thoughts!

Probably the same people doing a lap up the coast
Im glad i got of relatively lightly. Just $300 for a new window.
I guess i was really lucky to have someone finishing their ktie at the right time.
It sucks that people try to take away what we work hard for. To pay for my window thats 15hrs of work throw out of the window because someone wanted my stuff.
It was a ripper session though. May have been short, but twas good.

Lead deficiency, definitely a topic that requires more attention from world health organisations.

Vote one now, to cure lead deficiency, free high velocity lead injections for all thieving scum.

It seems a lot of scum don't wear any shoes either. Concrete seems to mould pretty well and with a big enough mould, one size fits all.

Concrete shoes for all crims. Then mandatory swimming lessons.

i'm all for the plate list happening and then even advertising it some how so the greater community might even know of these scumbags.
But in the first instance have a good look around to see if you see any of these low lifes sniffing around and yes they will be in a pack of three or Four as they dont have any guts on there own, or the ability to earn any money due the fact they are mostly inbred.

Instead of spending money on other crap, like new curbs and roundabouts. The councils of perth should all chip in to build a BIG prison in the middle of the dessert.
Make it simple. One really really high wall the whole way round, a food tray (the ones like pigs uses), water trays, some shade, and foam matresses. And chuck the crims in there and have no guards.
If the escape, they will hopefully die in the dessert. If they stay, they will hopefully keep fighting and kill each other.
The only cost involved would be filling the food and water trays.
These guys contrivute sfa to society, so the deserve nothing better.

...there was a 'conspiracy' doing the rounds not long ago (and currently), that three major detention centres/concentration camps had already been built and are lying in wait in the desert regions of w.a, s.a and nsw, for 'if/when' martial law is declared in response to either an avian flu outbreak or natural disaster or an economically created one. each of these are supposed to 'house' over one hundred thousand, and the one in south aus is 'supposed' to have a crematorium capable of thousands of bodies per 24hr... kbr was supposed to have 'won' the tender to build these facillities, just as they 'won' the tender to build the ghan... just as well none of us believe in these silly conspiracies huh.....

No conspiracy, I helped design the bnd (that what we called it to hide the fact it’s a torture chamber) it’s actually a nice color, we chose to use dark reds to match the landscape outside, should really mess with the heads of those in the chamber, wishing to be outside... muhahaha!

You should try the padded walls, no really you should - very squishy, we fondly named it the bouncy castle - apparently its earmarked for the conspiracy theorists whom will be the first to go into the centers, anyhow I would love to say some more about them but alas I am just as much sworn to secrecy than the other 900 co workers, we told our loved ones we were going fishing...

Had this e-mailed to me, not sure if it's true or not (it did have photos though).

USA JAIL - SOME INTERESTING READING
TO THOSE OF YOU NOT FAMILIAR WITH JOE ARPAIO, HE IS THE MARICOPA COUNTY SHERIFF (ARIZONA) AND HE KEEPS GETTING ELECTED OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

These are some of the reasons why:

Sheriff Joe Arpaio created the "tent city jail" to save Arizona from spending tens of millions of dollars on another expensive prison complex.

He has jail meals down to 20 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them.

He banned smoking and pornographic magazines in the jails, and took away their weightlifting equipment and cut off all but "G" movies. He says:
"They're in jail to pay a debt to society not to build muscles so they can assault innocent people when they leave."

He started chain gangs to use the inmates to do free work on county and city projects and save taxpayer's money.

Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn't get sued for discrimination.

He took away cable TV until he found out there was a federal court order that required cable TV for jails. So he hooked up the cable TV again but only allows the Disney channel and the weather channel.

When asked why the weather channel, he replied: "So these morons will know how hot it's gonna be while they are working on my chain gangs."
He cut off coffee because it has zero nutritional value and is therefore a waste of taxpayer money. When the inmates complained, he told them, "This isn't the Ritz/Carlton. If you don't like it, don't come back."
He also bought the Newt Gingrich lecture series on US history that he pipes into the jails. When asked by a reporter if he had any lecture series by a Democrat, he replied that a democratic lecture series that actually tells the truth for a change would be welcome and that it might even explain why 95% of the inmates were in his jails in the first place.

With temperatures being even hotter than usual in Phoenix (116 degrees just set a new record for June 2nd 2007), the Associated Press reported: About 2,000 inmates living in a barbed wire surrounded tent encampment at the Maricopa County Jail have been given permission to strip down to their government-issued pink boxer shorts.

On the Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing pink boxer shorts were overheard chatting in the tents, where temperatures reached 128 degrees.
"This is hell. It feels like we live in a furnace," said Ernesto Gonzales, an inmate for 2 years with 10 more to go. "It's inhumane."
Joe Arpaio, who makes his prisoners wear pink, and eat bologna sandwiches, is not one bit sympathetic. "Criminals should be punished for their crimes - not live in luxury until it's time for parole, only to go out and commit more crimes so they can come back in to live on taxpayers money and enjoy things many taxpayers can't afford to have for themselves."

The same day he told all the inmates who were complaining of the heat in the tents: "It's between 120 to 130 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents too, and they have to walk all day in the sun, wearing full battle gear and get shot at, and they have not committed any crimes, so shut your damned mouths!"

Way to go, Sheriff! If all prisons were like yours there would be a lot less crime and we would not be in the current position of running out of prison spaces.

Please don't take too much offence to this comment Teabagg, but have you ever in your life dealt with these types of people?? I come across these sorts of sh#tbags everyday, and they get more help from the government then pensioners do. They get a continue helping hand, but instead of taking it, throw it back in the faces of the people who offer them help.

The Arizone sheriff is on the right path. It's how they should be treated.

more than i care to remember.... and i still carry injuries both physical and psycological, i do speak from experience, you have no idea the injuries i carry, simply because 'i was in the wrong place at the wrong time' or, ' i just have one of those faces', once my car was even broken into (has happened many times but this time was different), exact senerio of dawnies', i caught them as they were leaving the beach carpark and took down their number plate, went straight to the cop shop and was told in no uncertain terms, 'there is nothing we can do about it, it's your word against theirs'... found out down the line, that the person responsible for the crime had died of an overdose not long after, so imagine where he was in that point in his life, turns out he was a surfer who went down a path he could not escape from, i'm certain he was not proud of himself or where he found himself to be, i am also certain that he veiwed himself as big a piece of useless sheet as the rest of society had judged him to be.
i lost a few things i was able to replace, he lost his life...
when you do the research and find out exactly where these drugs come from and who controls their supply and distribution, it makes it kinda hard to put your finger on who the real criminals are...

that story about the arizona sheriff sounds right on the money, prisoners should be doing slave labour, not some kid in a third world country

Yeh the justice system is a load of crap!

If you got caught driving whilst disqualified, the court would go to town on ya.
Not to mention if they cought ya doing a wheelstand on the moto.

Then you have these little ba$tards stealing and breaking into cars, breaking into houses and garages, and they get a slap on the wrist!

I reckon the judge should chop off a finger for every car they steal

Teabagg I won't play a I have it worse then you game from what I have experienced. However I assure you that the druggo ** bag not only would have been recieving money from the gov, who then shot it up his arms, but also when he was charged with the multiple offences he most surely would have been caught doing, he would have been put on court order re-hab, and if he went in the bin, would have gone through some of the best re-hab tax payers money can buy.

As for your line, " 'there is nothing we can do about it, it's your word against theirs' ", an understanding of the rules of evidence needs to be taken into account. I find most Police slaggings due to a lack of action arise arising from a poor understanding of the rules of evidence allowed in a court of law. If you want to know in detail rules of evidence in relation to your matter PM me and I'll give you the full run down if you like.

Cheers.

i was stating that, yes i have had dealings and run ins with many a piece of sheet, i know many who've had it far worse, especially the mothers of some of these scum, who do the best they can only to have it thrown back at them, i don't have all the answers or even any, i am a victim of the same circumstances we all find ourselves to be in, but the fact of the matter is, its systemic... and we rely and believe in a system that perpetuates victimhood, and controls through fear.

to front up to an officer of the police 'service' (as it should be known, instead of police 'force'), and be told that after witnessing a crime first hand, doing my civil duty of not taking the LAW into my own hands, but rather observe and pass all relavent information of this crime and its perpetrators onto this government system provided 'service', that its representitive dismiss me and my situation because, its my word against his... sends me the message that hey, maybe what they say is true about police being nothing more than revenue raising social order facists...

tough topic. my car was busted into over the summer and over $2500 worth of gear was taken out, not to mention, they stole my friends avacodo on the seat. I was soo angry as acouple of you may have witnessed after the kite, i was even worse off when i saw some b*stards 2 minutes later peeling out of the upper car park in a crap white/grayish car. choked to say the least. the police really arent any help at all and its alittle shocking to know there arent any cameras in any car parks even though the issue of theft is at a shocking rate in australia.
What was good though was i had a few items found and returned to me which was somewhat a relief but none of the expensive items were ever retrieved. probably in some pawn shop was someones suggestion to check out some of the local ones to the site where it happened.
its a real ball buster and downside to kiting or even just walking on the beach. One does have to wonder the type of people that do take action in theft. could be acouple of kids looking for a rush then again could be someones life depending on the riches that may be looked up in the tempting shiny car beside them.
fortunatly i was able to replace all but afew items, worthless to them but priceless to me.
in the end, its best not to dwell on the anger or the constant thoughts of revenge...

nothing is worse then being materialistic. just hope my loss helped those out who may have really needed it. sounds funny but there is no other way to look at it for there is absolutly nuthing i can do with my case.. on the other hand cheers to the dude that jotted the lisence plate #. im sure all will keep an eye out.

and cheers to the sherif.. superior system by far. love the pink shorts idea.. DE-MASCULATING

ok, here's one....
working as a volunteer down the local special school, doing the gardens, cause i love gardens... anyhow,
they are having problems with young kids roaming the school (non students) and stealing things like teachers handbags, projectioners, vcr's and the like. so they ask me to keep an eye out the two days a week i am there...
one day i come across this bmx bike stashed in the bushes, now i know its not some students or property of the school, it has hand brakes and does not have training wheels for a start, so i put the bike in the garden shed along where the mower and the garden tools are kept, the i go for a walk looking for the owner of the bike, it wasn't long before i found this little s.o.b quietly roaming the corridors and then ducking into a classroom, so i pounced.. grabbed him red handed going through a teachers handbag.
i frog marched him by the scruff of his neck towards the school office with the intent of calling the police. he was spitting on me and cursing me the whole way, so i gave him one super open palm slap across the face, basically a bi-tch slap, just to shut him up. when the cops came they cautioned him then and there in front of us, and he told them he would like to place charges against me for assulting him and stealing his bike..!
i was lucky i knew someone who knew this guys mother, otherwise the cops were seriously going to charge me, after letting this kid off right in front of us.

or how about this one,
i lock my bike up while i am doing the shopping,
but forget to lock my helmet as its still on my head, so i just tie it to the post under the seat, i come back after an hour and the helmet is gone, i am riding home from the supermarket on my pushbike, its peak hour, so i am riding on the foot path, i ride past two cops and their revenue raising radar trap, nod a 'hello' and they nod back, a hundred metres or so down the road, a police car pulls up along side me, lights and siren blaring. officer plod and his boy friend now want to book me for riding on the foot path and not wearing a helmet, i plead my case about the stolen helmet and the danger of riding on the road during peak hour, giving the example of how everyone speeds hence the presence of their money pot radar trap (i was minding my p's and q's) and they were very rudely indifferent.
continuing on my way home with a hundred plus dollars worth of fines, i get run off the road by a rather large woman talking on her phone whilst driving a black toyota landcruiser, she sees me stack into the gutter and my shopping go everywhere, almost stops but must've thought better of it and started to keep going, i jumped to my bike, left the groceries where they lay and caught up to this large woman...
her rebuttle..? 'you should not have been riding on the road anyway'
so yes i lost it called her all the whale related names i could think of, that night i get a visit from the same officer plod, turns out it was his fat missus who run me off the road and into the gutter, and his warning to me.... 'keep off the road and out of the way of traffic'
