We have a wedge tail eagle here in Perth (Serpentine) who attacked almost every paraglider here and we all have patches on top of our paragliders from that b@stard.

Back when I used to rock climb/abseil at Peak Charles, I would occasionally hear a whistling sound behind me and turning around there would be a wedge tail or two hanging in a thermal at the cliff face just watching us. Never got a photo cause when ever ya had a camera no birds. It was a really beautiful sight, the eagle/s hovering about 1 to 2 metres away. If they ever attacked there would be nothing you could do about it but they just seemed curious.

I flew with 3 Wedgies ( 2 in front and 1 behind ) just meters away yesterday at Mt. Bakewell in York at 3500 ft though these ones are friendly. Had one of them land on my hangglider while in flight a few months ago. Someone once said the one at Serpentine is a German shepard with wings, maybe next time you should throw him a bone Alex.

Apparently he used to be friendly a few years back, he just got old and grumpy.

I was thinking about doing some adjustments to my helmet;

I'm not sure about the forecast for Bakewell, I'll stick around here and if the wind drops fly with the powered harness. Wylkatchem next weekend is being organized for towing up and powered, a few ppg's look interested in comming out too on the western soarers site, more the merrier. Some guys who just want to see what flying is about will be heading out for a look aswell, let's hope Huewy is on our side. Don't know about the feathers, it might p1ss the other Wedgies off.
