I hate people who dont use chop stix. Even worse are those types that cant handle their stix, incorrect finger placement, uneven chop stix, and shaky ****ing chop stix hands.
I challenge myself try eating Macadamia nuts or even a t bone steak with chop stix.
While you may finish your soup 3 hrs before me you used a dirty good for nothing spoon!

Do you mean 'chopsticks'?

If so - maybe learn to spell the word before criticising those that can't use them.

Other than being in Asia somewhere, why do people even use chopsticks? Is there some practical reason or just to let everyone know that you are down with it?

Honestly it was just a silly post in the kitesurfing section to highlight the amount of threads headlined "people who cant...", then it got moved to shooting the breeze out of context and extra silly actually it fits in pretty well.

Just because a person elects not to use chop sticks is a poor excuse to justify HATING them.

I hereby categorically state that I will not use chop sticks to eat bangers, mash, gravy and peas, anything I cook on a BBQ, pies sausage rolls or hamburgers, any kind of sandwich, croissants, stews, soups, custard, jelly, ice cream, cake, peaches and cream, flied lice, beef in black bean sauce, sweet and sour pork and many other things.

Are you going to HATE me for the rest of your life for that????

There is more than enough HATRED in the world to go around. No need to use the way various people eat to promote HATE.

(to be sung to celebrate as in the wedding singer)
Holiday...........celebrate...........moderate..........holiday..........theres a part going on right here lets moderate...were gonna have a good time.....holiday.........moderate........celebrate........(so on and so forth)
I go to dimsum and get a fork and one chopstick, that way im multicultural, anything that can be speared by the chopstick i eat with that, anything that falls into fork catagory like rice or the slimy noodle roll gets fully forked.
Im like a split personality white guy at a chinese resteraunt with various modus operandi of attacking food.
You would not enjoy it, in fact that makes it far more pleasant for me....

As explained to me by a girlfriend who was cacking herself laughing at my efforts trying to use chopsticks.....

Back in the good olden daze, a Chinese Emperor narrowly missed being assassinated at a banquet by a guest wielding a table knife.

After dealing with the failed assassin, the Emperor decreed that knives were banned at the table and all food had to be cut up in the kitchen - and everyone had to use chopsticks.
To take a knife to the table was punishable by death.

Which in my case, would have meant a choice of death by execution or death by starvation.

Last two times I was in Asia everyone was eating with a fork and spoon. Not a chopstick to be found.

Good idea with the fork and spoon by the way, very efficient for eating dishes with lots of rice in them. Not so great for steaks but anything that can be gouged apart with the spoon was OK.

Try eating sashimi with a fork. Ditto most sushi, nagiri etc.

^^^ The wife just dropped our youngest into my office with a huge apple...great timing to read your response whilst she crunches & slobbers through the apple!

Back on topic - I like to use chopsticks when eating any Asian dish because it defines me as the pretentious w@nker that I am, superior to those around me that are either not able to use the utensils...or not prepared to embarrass themselves in front of my awesomeness with their inadequacies of chopstick etiquette!

I believe they don't use chopsticks in Indo or Thailand. That being said Indo has a large chinese population that probably uses them.

Cocopops are a healthy meal if you eat them with chopsticks.

I know of one moderator, not naming names ("G....P.."), who's been campaigning for 5+ years for more emoji's. Poor bugger - he's been hard done by.

This was recently in Kitesurfing:
www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Kitesurfing/General/We-need-more-Emojis/

..and how does all this relate to chopsticks?

Only at parties, in front of grandma or when a sibling is on the phone?
