44 million dollars to Make the assets of a parliament development and his buddies with a business richer.****s should be put in jail.

Welcome to the 2020 to little to late Perth.

These ****ers running this show are crooks. to many personal points of interest in development and the neglect to deal with growing infrastructure issues.

I think the rapid increase in immigration and growth is being overlooked over here in Perth. What we need is a functional airport and functional public transport.FFS

Soz about the rant Mabe i should build a bridge .. Possiably another-one over the swan river.

How about a tunnel under the Swan river from Nedlands to Pt Walter, that could cut my travel time in half, having to not drive to Freo!

$44 million? Is that all the waterfront thing will cost? Bloody hell, surely Gina could shout us that, only a couple of days pay.
Anyway I rekon is great, get used to traffic - cities ain't getting any smaller.
If you hate traffic and the rat race, there's heaps of bush out there.

Gotta say though, I completely agree that our public transport system is the worst of just about any city I've been to. Sydney's rail system works really well - we should do something like that.

Agreed Busta

So many visitors think the best thing about Perth (city) is the couple of kilometres of park along the CBD waterfront. Why do we need a development to make it look like every other city?

I disagree, I think it will go a long way towards 'improving' the city's night life. You can build freeways all you like, they'll still get clogged up. More people will decide to drive if it's an easier option. If taking the train is an easier (/faster) option then more people will use it.

I'm not saying our roads and public transport don't need work, they do, but I think the social aspect of a city is also deserving of a bit of improvement. I really like what Brisbane has done beside the river there at Eagle street. Compared to how it was 15 years ago it is on a whole different level of useability. I hope this one turns out like that. People want to have somewhere nice to go for dinner/drinks, and Perth city as a whole is pretty behind on that count.

There's still the whole stretch of Langley Park, that's heritage listed and won't be developed for a good long while.

Perth has to be one of the most conservative cities in the world. There is so much resistance to change. Perth CBD has to be one of the most dull central business districts going around. It's about time they gave it a bit of life. Get rid of the tumble weed and bring in some new life.
