Yep!

The 2012 'R offers, IMO, the best value for money for any performance car around and the new pulsar is supposedly excellent.

Toyos are probably more reliable but are soul less to drive

Best by which measure? most Japanese cars have assembly plants in other countries, so are you talking about assembled in Japan or global products?

Most car companies do that but you'd hope they specify that the factories run as they would if on home soil. Our Nissan is made in Thailand - still consider it a Nissan made in the Japanese style though.

Nissan - only for the RB30 engine
Toyota for everything else

GTR's are crud - a certain race team I know owns a few and after spending $250k on 1 it still drives no better than a race ford or holden just with more power. Gearboxes cannot handle the power and the electrical system is way overcomplicated to get the consumer to just spend more money.

I will give it to Nissan in a sense that they manage to keep the hoon market alive with factory cars 180sx/silvia/skyline alongside Honda (cannon exhaust - dropped on their guts, sounding like multiple wet farts screaming along)

Does anyone really care? It's just opinions, usually a persons opinion is trying to reinforce a previous decision....... Be it good or bad.

It's a bit like, get a tattoo they are great. Why? Because I have one......

ya fkn what now?

Maybe they had holden and ford v8 "mechanics" work on it and they can't understand real EFI, forced induction or centre diffs? Gearboxes are good for 800hP but you can't drop clutch like a 2wd cos they do have some traction and will fk drivetrains if not treated right.

a partly prepped GTR will slay fully prepped GpA Commonwhore and Foulcans any day and that is why they were banned - embarrassment factor

They're all good, but I value safety-reliability-practicality-performance over styling-fashion-tough guy posing-price and put my name to Toyota.

He has nothing but problems - Sorry yes Mark you are correct they do handle better.
Although I'm guessing most people here have not driven one ( nor myself ).

This cars puts out 750hp after all that money and breaks everytime. up to about the 5th computer in the last 2 years and lots of complications with the driveline. The evo goes through engines - nothing driveline/computer (approx 400 something hp). Porsche is the only one that goes the mile for him(can not remember hp).

Must be a poorly built engine in the Evo as 400hp isn't exactly huge power.

Computers simply don't break in cars, especially GTR's (i've driven a couple, like i said the 2012 is exceptional. The acceleration is so smooth but it handles like its on rails). When modding turbo cars (i've only got experience with turbo cars) you simply replace and rewire the factory ecu with a better unit (motec, autronic, vipec, whatever) or "flash" the factory ecu (ie fords turbo / blown engines).

Driveline issues are a problem in any hi po modified car (and a honda isn't a choice for hoons) but with enough money you can simply go to Holinger and get them to make you something that wont break. They have track proven driveline options for 32,33,34 GTR's that support 1000awhp in drag cars that launch hard so im sure there is something for the 35R

I think a V8 supertaxi costs around 250K (and isn't really fast but is reliable, handles well and stops well) but i'd put money on it that a standard 2012 GTR (for 160K) would put very similiar track times down. As cliché as it is, the Nurburgring is the ultimate place to see what a car can do and the 35R tore it up :)

Edit:

A V8 supertaxi accelerates from 0-100km in around 3.5seconds a 2012 GTR does it in 2.7 seconds. It's one of the few cars that's best left unmodified

They spent $250k and only got 750hp out of it says they don't know what they are doing.

As for the OP .... Nissan. For the GTR and the Patrol. Both the best at what they do at the far end of the scale.

Patrol by far the toughest 4x4 available in Aust
GTR's Nurburgring records ( R34 & R35 ) speak for themselves
