Oh yeah - I remember the show on the four dimensional hypercube (tesseract) the most. They have fascinated me ever since.
Did they do something on Schrodingers Cat too?
Isn't time the 4th dimension.
in our universe yes, but a tesseract is a 3 dimensional representation of a 4 dimensional object in another possible universe with more dimensions. Just like you can draw a cube on a piece of paper, but it is still just a 2 dimensional representation of a 3 dimensional object.
It is the logical progression that facsinates me.
1) take an object with no dimensions (a point), duplicate it and join the extremeties, and you get an object in one dimension - a line
2) take that one dimensional object duplicate it and join the extremeties and you get an object in 2 dimensions - a square
3) take that 2 dimensional obect and duplicate it and join the extremeties and you get an object in 3 dimensions - a cube.
4) take a cube, duplicate it and join the extremities.....tesseract.
Only we don't have 4 physical dimensions, so all we see is the representation in 3d, similar to drawing a cube on paper.
