Gee how good is this young guy, the young guys coming through including Jason Day who has now finished 2nd in 2 majors are just incredible, never thought we would see anyone like Tiger so soon(playing golf)

I always find it amusing how people bag golf.

Usually people that have never played it or do once a year and have absolutley no golfing co-ordination whatsoever.
So they find it easier that catorgorise it as a boring sport and put it down as a sport beneath them.

It is such a highly skilled sport that require's an enormous amount of personal mind control.
Well done Rory, my hats of to you.

I see what ya did there - takin a swing at a golf pun and hooking us with a real spinner.

Skill in golf? For sure.

Bout as fun to watch tho as grass growing (with argyle vests added to the equation).

Tailor made for fat, middle-upper class WASPY seppos who get a high pulse rate at the sight of a pastel polo shirt and wouldn't dream of exerting themselves, even in the event of a fire.

Bah! Even lawn bowls is more exiting.

Well done, you have just fitted yourself exactly into the type of knocker I was talking about.

I agree with GF...

I'd rather surf small on-shore slop than play golf - even on a Buck's day it bores me to tears...

I appreciate it is a skillful game though... just not my thing. Not even when I am a retired 65yo... I'll probably do 10 pin bowling and pool instead

Fair enough, if its not your thing and and don't find it interesting.
I just don't understand why people that don't play or watch feel the need to degrade it.
Ridiculing something that you know very little about is very narrow minded and not very clever at all.

Hit the ball into the hole.

Did I miss something existential?

Golf buggies are the best part for sure. Brrrrm!

Maybe they should just be called buggies - so they don't sound dull?

My two favourite things.

Rory has made an emphatic announcement, with humility, personality and grace.
Excellent tournament by Jason Day.

Great to have some new superstars in the game, and the focus off the negativity surrounding Tiger.

ahh guess i will bite . try holding down a single figure handicap , especially when you get to 4 and below . I trained everyday to maintain a 2 handicap and it was hard work . To say it's for fat middle class seppos well that just goes to show you no doubt tried to play but just couldn't manage the hand eye co-ordination to actually make contact with the ball and fell flat on your ass in front of your mates right ?

I was in the gym every second day and cycling every other day to keep as fit and strong as i could, so yer it's a game for fat middle aged men .

I love golf but i cannot watch it on tv . Actually being there is totally different but it doesn't equate to a good tv sport . Same as cricket . Infact same as any sport . I struggle to watch any sport on tv .

But onto rory , yes he is the youngest winner in 88 years but there is no way you can even put him in the same sentence as tiger . Tiger is still and will probably for a long time be one of the greatest golfers of all time .

My point exactly.
The fact that the principle (get ball in hole) is so basic but in practice it is so bloody hard.
Thus the fools that fall flat on their arse trying to do it justify their lack of skill by degrading the game

I hate tennis but i don't think the game is stupid or are the people that play it.

Also find golf compliments my wind sport,
Something to play when its not windy (most of the time) and golf is not that enjoyable in 20+ knots.
So I never have a weekend with nothing to do.

Are you still suffering to play at that level Dusta or have you backed off a bit?

Just shows the commitment the elite golfers must have.
Water sports and golf, both soak up so much time.
Need an understanding partner

I wouldn't say it was suffering . I loved the game and still do but after having a pretty bad car accident which ****ed my back i never could keep up the same level of intensity . Having a couple of years off to try and get back to the same fitness level work and other commitments got in the way and then i really couldn't afford to spend hours a day training and playing 18 holes everyday so i had to give it up . Still play off around 8-10 with no practice so i can live with that .
