Firstly before you conclude that global warming is a 'FALSE science' I suggest you indicate where I can find the evidence of there not being global warming?

Just because Kevin Rudd makes a debatably invalid point doesn't somehow 'disprove' global warming, just like the attempts to conclude similarly in different disasters by the media have been wrong - the problem with these people is that they speculate based on the possibility that there exists any relationship between the said events and global warming or lack thereof - just like conspiracy theorists. Unfortunately there are misconceptions on both sides, but that is irrelevant when concerning the reality of the matter is all the same.

I suggest you explain (or show sources that do) that coral bleaching and several other related phenomena on grounds other than global warming.

The FACT is that global temperatures are at level significantly different to what they were in the past and the rate of temperature change post-industrialization has been significantly different from what would have occurred in natural course. I'm not in any way advocating that we jump to conclusions, but the study of global warming is far from that.

There are SO SO many studies concluding it exists so unless you're a fan of bovine logic show us some quality sources please. I don't mean youtube, fancy rhetoric or conspiracy theorists most of which are too bovine themselves to muster the fancy rhetoric - so we'll give them their own special category. I'd actually be very interested to see the counter-argument, but I haven't been able to find a reputable one yet.

Secondly he's not signing our 'national sovereignty' away to the UN, don't be such a drama queen.

...and who's the puppeteer may I ask? Who's hands are we all playing into? Us poor oblivious souls, please tell us who?

The fact that the Coalition even engages in the debate, and for them it is just a matter of the terms of the Carbon Trading Scheme, illustrates that they also accept the concept of this FALSE science.

The opposition party has to be seen to be being in opposition, so they just oppose the position of the comma in the sentence, not the sentence.

Both parties are puppets of the one puppeteer.

The "Illegal Immigrant/Boat People" issue is just an emotive side issue used to distract us from what they are trying to do secretly.

After "Question Time" (a Show Pony for the Masses), they head up to the "Parliamentary P-ss Tank" and slap each other on the back and say things like "I had you on that one mate. You ought to give your speech writer a bit of a tune up." or "That was a good return mate. It cracked us all up." Yuk,Yuk,Yuk.

If we let them get away with it they will. If we say no, they won't.

If anyone has ever played wikirace; that is how the conspiracy theorists' minds work.

Wikirace is a game on wikipedia where you navigate from two completely unrelated topics only by clicking on the hyperlinks between pages (without search or the navigation index), it's a game played by bored high school students, the one who gets there first wins.

For example navigate from Jesus to Chickens - it's possible for almost anything.

Forget about conspiracy theories.

I refer you all again as I have in other threads to "Worlds in Colission", "Earth in Upheaval" and "Ages in Chaos" written by Immanuel Velikovsky in the 50s before most of the forum members were born.

He presents undisputeable evidence that logically indicates that the Earth in recent and recorded history (around 3,500 years ago) has experienced cataclysmic events that make the current hysteria about global warming pale into insignificance.

Google his name if you like and you will find all the rabid claims from mainstrean scientists whose reputations and research funding are threatened if Velikovsky's research and very credible theory becomes common knowlege.

Instead of the quick and glib precis's you find on Google, I suggest you read the books.

As for the political process in Australia; "Honest Politician" is an "oxymoron". The last honest politician we had was put in gaol where she was brutally lesbian raped for a couple of weeks before a couple of feds had a chat with her and said "If you want to stick to your guns girl, what you have just had is only a taste of what you have to look forward to. If you drop the subject and give it all away, we will let you out."

I kinda think it's a pointless argument either way. Both sides accept that the climate has changed constantly and fairly dramatically from one extreme to the other as shown in the geological record. I guess the creationists might be among the few that'd argue that one but anyone credible would agree.

So is the climate changing now? On the odds of the above, probably yes. Does it really matter what the cause is? The real question is what do we do about it?

Dust clouds in the upper atmosphere from volcanic activity seem to have cooled the climate pretty quick in the past (just ask the dinosaurs)... we could seed a few dust clouds by setting off a few nukes in various sites around the planet. They should get some dust up there quick smart.

I volunteer Australia for one of the sites. Somewhere real close to Canberra could be a good spot....

Oh wait a second... who do you think is going to be paying for the future Co2 emissions ultimately if legislation is passed because we now believe that global warming exists? Hint: Look at the carbon trading scheme.

Sure, look at pharmaceutical companies - they sponsor some crazy proportion of research in Australia, but at least the proceeds of bias are in their favor in that case... but this?
