Safety Bay Classic
11-12th December 2004** Look! New format for the SB Classic Weekend **Proceeds from the entry fees goes back to all of those who sail the event! With every entry you get a buffet dinner for 2 at the Waikiki Hotel, opposite the marathon finish line on the night of the 11th of December, after the race. For your entertainment, a band will be playing 70s-80s music for 9pm-1am.

The events are as follows:Marathon:Saturday 11th December (Sunday reserve day)Boat start will be used in preference to the usual beach start line. The entire length of the course is approximately 34kms. All markers on the outside of the course will be in the lee of the islands, providing flat water for easier gybing. The several inside markers will be set close to the beach to aid novice sailors and those that want to stop for a rest. Please return your entry as early possible for catering reasons.
Marathon Dinner:Saturday 11th December 7pm-1amComplimentary buffet dinner and entertainment for two for every marathon entry. After dinner, a band will be playing 70s-80s music from 9pm till 1am.
Giant Slalom:Sunday 12th DecemberThis event will be a series of giant slalom races within Warnbro Sound. Boat starts will also be used for the giant slalom.
Freestyle Expression Session: 12th-11th DecemberFreestyle sessions will be held in Warnbro Sound, in front of the Waikiki Hotel. The organisation of these sessions will be subject to the number of participants over the weekend.

Important Notes:One entry fee covers entry into all events and the dinner.
Marathon nominations, starting and scrutineering will occur at long point this year.
Cost of entry for Open, Womens, Masters and G/Masters classes is $45, Youth class is $30.
A buoyancy vest and a flare will be required for entrance into the marathon event.
All competitors must be a financial member of SBWC

Proof of membership to the above must be sighted!
Any competitor who wishes to enter the events and is not a member of a recognised club or fails to provide proof of membership may still enter, but will incur an additional fee of $20 to cover insurance costs.
Ample free parking and facilities are available at the venue.
