If you want to sell something that's still under warranty, do you include the original receipt?

What if the person who's buying it is paying more than it cost you?
Wouldn't it just make him feel bad, or go to JB Hifi and get the same deal?

Oooh, tricky one.

If its to some random dude, 'I've got the receipt here somewhere, I will post it when I find it."

If its to a mate, I'd probably 'fess up to it and negotiate another price.

Mates r mates and you have to look after them... it's someone random from another forum.
I made a personal receipt... but the camera is less than a week old.

I too thought about saying I'd email him the receipt.

Don't worry about the fact you got it cheaper. You may have gotten a discount from someone for some reason. When it boils down to it, if they could have gotten it cheaper, they should have.

A lot warranties are non transferable. Most of the products we service have that written in the warranty fine print.

Good point.
But if it was a cash receipt there would be very little proof of who paid in the first place.... (?)...

PS - How's that McTavish going?

It proves the goods are-not stolen . An a receipt should allway be kept in case of insurance due to theft. If he has the original reciept he can get a new replacement not a cash subsidy if he/she decides in the event

It would not hurt to give the original receipt !
