Sex fuels earthquakes, says Iran cleric
AAP April 18, 2010, 2:32 am
A senior Iranian cleric has claimed that dolled-up women incite extramarital sex, causing more earthquakes
"Many women who dress inappropriately ... cause youths to go astray, taint their chastity and incite extramarital sex in society, which increases earthquakes," Ayatollah Kazem Sedighi told worshippers at Friday prayers in Tehran.
But this has not stopped urban women from appearing in the streets wearing tight coats and flimsy headscarves and layers of skilfully applied makeup.
Hmmm,.. there might be something to this.
Today's news reports an earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale in Kalgoorlie,
And we all know what goes on there. Specially in Hay street.

This can't be just a coincidence.
There could be a thesis in this somewhere for a budding engineering or science grad student.
I mean if we can come up with computer models to link CO2 and global warming, it should be a piece of cake to come up with a computer model to link "dolled up women and extramarital sex" with earthquakes.
You could then make a graph to show the likelihood of a catastrophic earthquake in any particular area.
The X axis would show debauchery measured in the proposed new unit of debauchery, the "debauch" (db).
I spose that would have to be on a logarithmic scale because debauchery tends to be that way.
The Y axis would be the likelihood of an earthquake, measured in percent probability.
And the Z axis (yes it's going to be a 3D graph) would be then be the resultant strength of the imminent earthquake, measured in units on the richter scale.
That way you could determine the likelihood of a catastrophic earthquake for any area just by doing a quick survey on how many dolled up women were engaging in extramarital sex, convert this to a unit of debauchery and enter this onto the debauchograph for an instant assessment.
You could use a few examples to establish benchmark points, such as Iran because they have lots of earthquakes, and Kalgoorlie because they just had one, and say Newcastle, because they had one a while back.
See? I've done most of the work already.
Sounds pretty sweet to me.
