Well, in an astonishingly short timeframe of only took 6 months after the initial user survey, and after numerous committee meetings, surveys, memo's, proposal, RFQ's and interstate meetings, the "General Discussion" forum has been renamed to "Shooting the breeze..."

Hardly surprising, all we did in those committee meetings was kite, drink beer and eat awesome food. It's a wonder anything ever gets done around here.

Shooting the breeze is a good start to the sexing-up of your forum layout. ^^^
The removal of all the 'Generals' would eliminate some of the repetition.
What's the next improvement ?
'Pole Control' for windsurfing section maybe ?
'Kite Central' for kiting section perhaps ?

I dont mind the "shooting the breeze" concept. Sounds kinda cool in a nerdy kinda way

BUT, from a purely aesthetic point of view, I dont see the point of the "General Discussion / Shooting the Breeze"

I would have just renamed General Discussion to "Shooting the Breeze"
unless you plan to have other forums under the General Discussion heading.
