Laurie. Time has come to put an end to sleazebags posting on seabreeze. Inappropriate posting of naked photograph of Lara Bingle which she clearly does not want published and comments by other members for young European girls to expose their breasts or join them for sexual activities should not be tolerated.
Alls fair to rib your mates but the above posts would constitute sexual harassment and should not be tolerated on seabreaze.

Mate those Euro girls were spamming forums, they can take what they get.
As for Lara Bingle, she got a new hotshot publicist a week ago. Now she's getting great publicity. Case closed.

Help me out Frant.

Above each forum post, or photo in the photo gallery, you'll see a flag - click this to report stuff.

Unfortunately, we (the mods) can't read every forum (there are 40 of them) to know what's going on...

Let me know where this topic/photo is & we'll look......

[Update: ok .. found it / removed]

Sorry to the porno hunters - plenty of other sites out there for ya's.

Frant,

I am all for lack of sexism on here as it has turned gals off the forum and they don't wanna ask questions here.

But....
I dunno why you would look at it when the title pretty much suggested what it would be... and it has been reported in the paper and so on (about the pic of her I mean)

The overseas girls didn't complain about the replies (they posted in their own thread after the dirty replies and made no mention)

Never seen a comment here that was more risque than what is on ad's on TV and billboards, or the all out sex scenes on TV nowadays.... and their ain't no 5 year olds on these forums unlike other media.

Never seen a comment to one of the female forum users that is sexist or inviting..... only to one time spammers like the euro girls or maybe something about ppl in the public eye like Bingle ....and she's copping it elsewhere so seabreeze is not different

Agreed to a certain extent, but that still doesn't make it OK...

We want seabreeze to be, and stay, a safe place for the younger visitors (early teens at least).

Wake up bloke!! This is the internet. No ONE owns it but it belongs to EVERYBODY.

What is appropriate or inappropriate on any particular web site is determined by the owner of the web site and his/her nominated moderators and the financial depth of their legal war chest.

Speaking of which, if you care to name who you are calling "sleazebags" it might give us an opportunity to find out the financial depth of YOUR legal war chest.

It is quite apparent that your moral chest is shallow and prudish to say the least in my humble opinion.

Usually it is not necessary for moderators or web masters to step in as users or members collectively decide on appropriateness.

Double entendres, humour, irony, sarcasm and a sense of the ridiculous are part and parcel of daily life and forums. If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.

You are not Senator Conroy in disguise by any chance are you???

Frant.

Nice of you to defend the reputation of Lara. You are a true gentleman. This site need more chivalry.

What more can be said about Lara. She is a lovely lady who just likes to appear on tv (those nasty poms got all hot and bothered over her lovely ad campaign - cannot understand why they got upset over that one word), and likes a bit of publicity with nice wholesome cricketers and nice young footy players.

We should respect her privacy.

I like you other posting about bees dicks - other people might get offended by that, but don't worry about them

A young lady caught in a compromising position by a mobile phone. Plenty of those on the web.

And I thought he was a nice lad.

No photo on this site ..... I appreciate and understand Laurie's position.

Cisco. Not prepared to abide by your own standards hey! As a member of the collective user group I have asked the moderator to determine what is appropriate whilst expressing my own opinion as to what that should be. You on the other hand have made thinly veiled threats of legal action against me for expressing my opinion.
And I will reiterate, in my opinion an old bloke who suggests repeatedly that young girls might like to engage in sexual or sexy activities with him is a sleazebag.
And then you revert to name calling, to suggest that I may be Conroy in disguise could leave you with a bigger writ than you could handle.
If you can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen.

The internet may not be 'owned' by any one person but this site/domain is owned by someone and its content can be controlled by that person. I am in no way a prude but I do agree with Frant on some points. This site is called Seabreeze and I was under the impression that it was for all sporty things wind and water related. If we are to attract new young members to our sport surely it has to be family friendly. I am pretty sure that some of the femal members of this site have not appreciated some of the sexist and derogatory content in the past. If you want p0rn or titty pics go to redtube etc. Plenty there .

Lara is just getting her 15 minutes ( x 10) of fame .... more than most of us will ever get in our boring little lives. Lara is a public figure - she wants publicity & she got it. The picture was perhaps a step too far.

Wonder what Pup is thinking about the marriage right now?

The final arbiter for acceptance of posting on this site is always Seabreeze - once the back office was made aware, it was removed. Remember the fishing forum .... now there was a heartache for Seabreeze, but some of the debate was great fun. For a while .....

Was not interested in the other forum discussion ...... to me it seemed like a silly thing to post on this site. Bit like putting a "for sail" item or advertising your resort in the forum. You get flamed.

This the general forum - not water sports specific - for this community. This is a good debate in the spirit of the discussions on this forum. I respect your view frant - not sure about the "sleazebag" aspect though.

I agree with Frant. Everything he talks about in his first post are in the forum rules. In the last 6 months or so it seems the rules have been continually pushed, with images ending up being deleted. I don't know if the posters receive warnings but they probably should.

To everyone saying harden up, I don't need pictures of nude or semi nude women popping up on my screen when I check the forum in my lunch break. The rules are there to make this a nice place for as many people as possible to visit. When you created your account you agreed to those rules.

Squid lips-
I saw the photo of lara on four ad breaks and then the channel ten and nine news,

If lara photos are what frant is worried about maybe he/she could go and heckle the tv stations instead of the fine administrators at seabreeze,

I am so glad that better photos are posted than that frowning blurry pixalated forehead.

Frant,
A fair point to make all be it with rather flimsy examples (spammers = hunting season)...we can all do with reminders to remember that at all times (not just on seabreeze) that:
sexism is out of the question
Making lude or derrogatory comments regarding anyones gender is included in this.

But I cant say I have never found the need to flag a comment when the context of a thread is considered. Most people I come in to contact with, especially seabreezers, have a fantastic sense of humour, its called Australian.

If the do gooders really want to say something, they could find far more needy causes than the likes of seabreeze.

Smile, its not that bad.

so here is one for the forgotten demographic (although not for doggie or most of the sleaze bags)

But it is not like somebody posted a thread called "Pic of windsurfer cutting up at Jaws" and when you open it you find it is in fact a nude girl.

Yes rules are rules - but it is a stretch to say that somebody could open it unwittingly at work or whatever.
Pretty obvious what it was, so fair enough complain about it, but you can't say it could pop up without your knowedge.
That was what I took issue with in Frant's post also.

Maybe for this forum when you can select "humour" or "WA" or "technique" etc to go next to your subject line, Laurie could add "XXX"

Hot tip, if you don't want to potentially see a 'naked' picture of a chick during your lunch break don't click on a thread titled Lara Bingle, or the funny images thread for that matter. Surfing forums at work is something where personal discretion must come into play if one is to avoid unwanted content. This is par for the course, you can't expect the entire world to be moderated to your personal or your offices standard; I understand this thread may have been against the seabreeze policy, however as said before mods take time to notice/take things down. The power ultimately to determine what you do and do not see is entirely in your hands.

I am with Frant and SquidLips. Let's keep Seabreeze somwhere I can look at lunch without worrying if a NSFW image pops up. Even worse is if it gets on the blacklist for a corporate proxy filter.
I doubt Laurie wants his site to be banned from corporate clients Internet access. Bad for Laurie, bad for sponsors, bad for Seabreeze and ultimately bad for us.
By all means have fun, but keep it clean.

I'm not necessarily saying it shouldn't be like that, I don't think anyone is suggesting that the site is opened up to include this sort of content, after all we're all basically here regarding windsurfing etc. I'm merely pointing out that when you surf forums ultimately it's your own discretion that determines whether or not you 'get into trouble'. Realistically anyone can post anything on here they like, until such time that a moderator is alerted to it or finds it; who knows how long that could be. You can't assume that because the forum rules are designed around it being a 'family friendly' site that it actually is 100% of the time.

Squid lips for the reasons I have pointed out above, perusing forums in that fashion is an inherently risky thing to do.

If people do not want that to happen they should stop accessing the Seabreeze Site from their employers equipment and during their employer paid hours.

No matter how one wants to justify it, unless accessing this site is directly related to your employment activity, accessing the site during employer paid hours is STEALING.

If it is your own business, you are stealing from yourself.

I am not being moralistic here because I have STOLEN from some of my employers in the past. I am just stating fact.

If your employer has a sophisticated I.T. department, your activities will be known and if your employer has a hard line attitude on honest employment, accessing the site during employer paid hours may jepoardise your continued employment.

Do whatever you are going to do but don't whinge if it catches up with you.

I tried to acess a seabreeze forum once from a hotel and i was blocked becoz some one had written blow j*b (with out the star but a 'o') "
Now why should I be denied access to a site, coz some one was cracking a funny... I am sure no one was actually offering,
Perhaps some peoples employers filter needs cranking up.

Ok the intelligent threads that dont need to resort to smut are very funny and at times a little rare.
But Im not djdojo, I am not some smart wannabee with a cleanliness issues. ooh not you dj dojo I dont meen your a wannabee or have issues...but you is smart enough to dodge this thread i hear you thinking!!!
I just want to make some jest in my hearty, honest and worldly way,
I also think I should be able to tell someone to 'stick it' if I dont like what they have to say...
especially censorship activists... did you not listen to Rage Against the Machine?

so all you smart types improve the content and get typing and dont let any knockers get you down ...(I wonder if knockers would get blocked at travel lodge..?
i await your entertainment skills.......

and please dont tell me I should be logging onto a forum to talk about the weather when that bit is one button back on the home page!!!

I wonder if travel lodge would block 'doodle' too
did some one say-
