Hey, just taken up the sport (only shoot fish to eat). Its good coz its something to do in the water when there is no wind. Was wondering how many of the other guys in this forum do it. And where abouts the go (prefer to hear from perth peeps). And do you use a boat or just do shore based dives? Also is there anyone interested in doing some dives with me,
I have a few friends which do it as well, but with uni and all its hard to find times when everyone is free.
dear mr filthy , before you go play with the sharkies you had better talk to your mates about lite wind action as they are doing some serious talkabout tea bag action .
i know mike, its tragic :P... I havent got enough money for light wind kiting atm. Maybe next summer. Anyhow I normally dont go spearing/diving unless its offshore. Which u wouldnt be kiting in anyhow. Would be the ultimate watersports setup if i had a boat, a windsurfer, a kite... and my dive gear. Could go out on the wide blue in all conditions.
Geez, Filthy. If you think it's hard to find times when everyone is free when you are at uni, just wait till you start working in a real job! You don't get the sack for wagging lectures. Uni= time but no money. Work=(some) money but no time. I'd go spearfishing with you in my boat (except for the fact that I'm on the other side of the country) and am time poor. Enjoy the relative freedom while you can, grasshopper.
Its more the fact that i only have 3 or 4 mates that spearfish. One is a plumber and is always working, One is final year engineer, got projects due, ones got a busted ear, one is just never free when I am.
I know i shouldnt be complaining about lack of time while at uni. But atm, I dont get much time to do anything other than uni work. Multiple big projects due. At uni from 9ish in the morning, normally doing uni work till atleast 10 (usually about till 2am) at night. At least when u working u can leave your work at work (most of the time). Mind u, holidays are sweet, and the first half of the semester is pretty cruisey.
Thanks for the offer though mate, pitty its such a big country with so much sand in the middle
Dont have a gun atm, due to kite spenditureRegularly go off Hillary's if your interested. Thanks Matt PS also a good spot up near Mullaloo thats kinda outa the way
