Anybody interested ?
Sell you board and buy real helicopter !

only $3000 !?

I could, but my only concern if fuel tank last for small jump from Kiwi land to Aussie
Or there is any petrol station on Tasman route (at least till I found a way to convert it to solar powered helicopter - assuming that do the trip in one day)?

What is interesting though that there is still room for innovators like me
If not solar then good size kite should be able to lift and power some sort of flying machine.
Kite ( or array of 2 synchronized kites) will provide lift and propel along.
What needed some sort or resistance from air ( in the absence of water) to steer vehicle.
Are there any known example already of flying machine propelled by kites ?
Real size or remotely controlled ?
I wonder how science and dynamics of such flight may looks ...

Pretty sure you're trying to reinvent the paraglider with that thought-train.

As far I know para glider could only glide down (unless some up draft is available)
I am talking about capsule attached to the kites that could launch up from flat ground and steer around in desired directions (obviously with similar limitation to water base crafts).
And rotor could be very useful here indeed to create this resistance within the air.
But you could be right.
Paraglider wing could to some extend be propelled by kite IMO.

You are better off refining 1 thing Macro - finish the cat first

Work on cat is still in progress.
1. I did permanently close holes for centre boards - because at 30 km/h water was gushing like fountain through this openings
I used PVC pipe cut in half and screwed to the hulls - but there is water ingress into one hull. Good > 100 L in one 5 hour ride !! So I need to improve , turn cat upside down and completely laminate.

2. Next - above 20 km/h behind each hull quite big wave is created and water splashing, creating wash and wave. I have to find a way to create mould and make fibreglass sharp ending extension 1.0 to 1.5 m long. That should substantially reduce drag.

3.At this moment cat is going very nicely 22 km/h with 2 persons on board with 6HP Suzuki motor and fuel consumption is around 1 liter per hour.

Unfortunately I could not present the most recent trials on Google map because my smart phone was somehow damaged by this splashing water one trip. Luckily was insured and replacement should arrive soon. This time I need better waterproof case and the cheap one wasn't so good.

ahh, innovator? self proclaimed I take it. I think innovator has an implication of some sort of success.
Your solar cat will be the biggest POS that marginally floats.
