Guys i havent been to site for a while whats with the extreme sensoring of swear words recognized in a dictionary, we can show pretty scanty or extreme images but we cant even say ****? or fluck

It's because there are those in here that drink beer and those that drink fine wine out of crystal glasses. Laurie has to cater for those that pay the $$ and they drink ... well you know.

I agree. Its not too hard to come up with an alternative that gets past the filtering if you really want to, and if you are going to do that you may as well come up with a non-offensive alternative.

Well of course they do, have you heard tyeenage kids talk they could teach nus a thing or to about swearing.
I just think were a little off track here the current age of political correctness is doing my head in and i reckon a lot of people that condone all tis rubbish had better remember that next time they get pole vaulted or caught up in lines while sailing at a public place to yell GOLLY instead.
But saying that i was only curious as to why the change to more refined writing.

I think a good analogy is that if you wouldn't yell it in a crowded shopping centre then you probably shouldn't yell it here either.

My brother used to swear a bit in front of his kids (doesn't seem to any more), although I'd never heard them swear (they are in their mid & late teens now). When I asked him about it, he simply told me that his daughter asked him "why do people use swear words?" and he replied "because some of us aren't smart enough to think of better words - but I know that you are." It seemed to work...for both my brother and his kids.

I've told my kids the exact same and although a few of my mates throw a few 'f' bombs around and my kids hear it - I've never heard them repeat it. I'd be more comfortable with my 11, 9 & 4yo reading through this site with swear words in it and seeing pics of natural (nudey) bodies (obviously not dangly-bits - they can be crude), than some of the offensive & derogatory crap that is directed between the same serial posters on a daily basis.

The moderators have been placed in a position to police the rules and they will ultimately determine what stays & what goes.

Seriously this thread reminded me 6 months or so ago I went to maccas. Fairly rare event, but sometimes it's the fastest/cheapest thing when you're flat out.. anyway it was a sat morn, full of families & kids of all ages. Reasonable neighborhood. As I'm walking out some kid about 18 walks in, long greasy hair & covered in tatts, sucking last of his ciggie right up to the door then drops it in the doorway, with a T-shirt with a word somewhat like the one above in red 20cm high letters. I was struck with a massive random urge to drive my elbow into his neck as I walked past the other way. Had I not been carrying a kid I might have done it.
