Has anyone elese been following this story in the news?
www.geelongadvertiser.com.au/nocookies?a=A.flavipes

The second witness, Torquay man Mick Boucher, was kite-boarding on Fishermans Beach late on Saturday afternoon when he saw a kangaroo hop on to the beach and into the water.

He said the unfortunate roo was about 200 metres from shore when the shark struck, the predator's back clearly visible above the choppy waves as it attacked.

Is, Torquay man Mick Boucher, a seabreeze member?
If so I'd love to find out if you soiled yourself or not

They might be safer from over (fin) fishing then

I wouldnt be surprised if sharks could catch us. You watch em with the seals, and they are shifting along.
Mako sharks can go (quickly runs to google) "y a fishing line, the Shortfin Mako has been reliably clocked at 31 miles (50 kilometres) per hour, and there is a claim that one individual of this species achieved a burst speed of 46 miles (74 kilometres) per hour"
www.elasmo-research.org/education/topics/p_shark_speed.htm interesting site.

Myself (and Chef) caught a 100kg mako a couple of years back (and I've lost many since), they're the great white's nearest relative (blue pointer, I think?), and you're right...they flog along, you're line is pointing one direction, whilst at 90degrees to where you're standing, the mako jumps and somersaults a few times in the air! They let you know when they're around...by chewing your boat!!!

If a shark wanted to grab you, it would, and the faster you went....the more excited it'd get!!!

Now......goodnight boys and girls......(and sweet dreams!)[}:)]

Mmmwwwaaaaahhhhhhahahahaha! (evil laugh)[}:)][}:)][}:)]

Many years ago there was a runabout fishing out from Bunbury. They hooked a Mako and when they got it reasonably close it attacked and then jumped in the boat. The guys ended up sitting on the bow whilst the shark thrashed the boat to bits. They were very lucky - no injuries or possibly even boat sunk. Wow Makos just go off big time. [}:)]
