Dawn Patrol said...I wouldnt be surprised if sharks could catch us. You watch em with the seals, and they are shifting along.
Mako sharks can go (quickly runs to google) "y a fishing line, the Shortfin Mako has been reliably clocked at 31 miles (50 kilometres) per hour, and there is a claim that one individual of this species achieved a burst speed of 46 miles (74 kilometres) per hour"
www.elasmo-research.org/education/topics/p_shark_speed.htm interesting site.
Myself (and Chef) caught a 100kg mako a couple of years back (and I've lost many since), they're the great white's nearest relative (blue pointer, I think?), and you're right...they flog along, you're line is pointing one direction, whilst at 90degrees to where you're standing, the mako jumps and somersaults a few times in the air! They let you know when they're around...by chewing your boat!!!
If a shark wanted to grab you, it would, and the faster you went....the more excited it'd get!!!

Now......goodnight boys and girls......(and sweet dreams!)[}:)]
Mmmwwwaaaaahhhhhhahahahaha! (evil laugh)[}:)][}:)][}:)]
