Bring the kite to the edge of the wind about 4 meters above the ground and get it flying steady. Reach out and grab hold of the centre cord and top line in one hand and pull it towards you. With a bit of practice you can do this and the kite will still fly in exactly the same position. Forget about the bottom line as it is doing nothing. The purpose of this exercise is to enable you to grab hold of the top front line where it comes together with the other line in the centre. You grab hold of this front top line and pull it toward you quickly. It also helps if you release the bar from your harness. The kite will turn into the wind and drop to the ground. Works nearly every time with a bit of practice. Make sure there is no one down wind of you. When I was learning the kite sometimes did one somersault downwind but always came to rest. It is best to learn in light winds and don’t let go of the top line once you start pulling it in after you have released you bar. Sometimes it is best to get someone to show you. That’s how I learnt.
