Step one, get rid of wireless (if you're running it). While convenient at times it can be nothing be a pain in the arse and I don't care what anyone says you can't beat cable for a reliable fast connection.
That almost defeats the purpose of this new magic.
Step two ditch TVersity, it's bloated and slow. I used to run it and had problems with stutter etc occasionally, both on wireless and wired.
Step 3 get this;
ps3mediaserver.blogspot.com/A million green thumbs for you sir.
That TVersity was slowing *everything* down while running, noticeably. This beast has a lot of transcoding options to play with too. Now I have to get head aronud how Java is less bloated ;)
Note; the atom NB should be able to stream something natively to the PS3 ok but I seriously doubt whether it it could transcode anything, in fact i'd almost guarantee it...it's not not powerful enough a cpu.
Nope. Probably not, as KD said I have troubles playing decent quality vid, let alone transcoding it. Although it depends on the player. I've found best results with Winamp for FLV and KMPlayer for everything else. VLC sits somewhere in the middle.
An aside: Damn Chappell Show is funny (streaming now). Why is it though when a black man laughs at himself it is "racist"?
