Now the movie world has caught up to the discussion: a recent UK documentary called The Great Global Warming Swindle (1 hr. 16 min.) presents evidence that counters the content of Al Gore's box office hit. Not CO2, but the sun, the researchers say, is responsible for global warming. Click the link below to watch

Hmmm as expected we have for and against arguments involving major events at all times. Most of late usually indicates that one group or another are attempting to convince the population to follow a specific belief.
Never let true science get in the way of a well promoted propaganda campaign.
Being a sceptical person, when I see such blathering re "global warming" a few standard checks just like this latest group have shown that its just that "Malarkey", and sadly generated by self promoting major groups who can only benefit from panicking the populous.

I've heard this line before, but I can't see exactly what 'benefit' the majority of the world's climate experts (who have been in agreement that global warming is reality for 15 years) could get from 'panicking the populous' with this fairytale...perhaps you could fill us in Mineral?

On the other hand it's pretty obvious how oil companies, car manufacturers, loggers, corrupt governments etc benefit from maintaining the status quo.

Movies like 'the great global warming swindle' remind me of cigarette company's spin on smoking....maybe all the experts got it wrong, maybe smoking isn't bad for you, it's all a swindle to stop us from enjoying smoking....

What do you reckon?

From a totally uninformed point of view, we were only discussing this the other night, how all the bad press on smoking and the fact that of all my smoking, friends, family, work mates - I don't know anyone that has any smoking related health problems or that all of them can perform thier jobs duties and sports fine as well as being heavy smokers.

I don't smoke by the way.

Yep Sinker maybe you could take a second small look at the comment re Grants for science projects pre-global warming and now after the mad rush doom gloom global warming issues. Went from Millions to Billions, stated in video as a small example
The whole Global warming issue is a large business that generates a massive amount of revenue for the well positioned businesses.
Look really its my opinion only. Sinker I think its a load of crap, you follow what ever you believe. But most of the bullsh1t data put up, doesn't add up. I just applied some simple maths, and came to my conclusion.

Been to HK or China lately? You can't even see the buildings across the river for the smog, and they have only just joined the global ecomomic race...Wake up and smell the coffee. If you continue to pollute there will be a price to pay! Global Warming is just a huge wake up call..... Can you realy see the point in taking the opposing view?
Why has Aussie still not signed "Kyoto" when as a country we already out preform the criteria? It is no coincidence that the USA and Aussie are the only countries that refuse to accept the obvious...

I don't know that they refuse to accept the obvious... because as you say, its obvious.
I think they just refuse to sign because they are saying that signing up to hit a few targets etc. will not instantly stop global warming.
We also have to realise that we still need to live in the world as well so industrialisation will continue regardless.
Now that the media are on the bandwagon, maintaining pressure on industry etc will be much easier and the "clean" technologies will come to the fore more rapidly.
Take cars for instance, it was only 3-4 years ago that car makers were saying that engines would not run successfully on ethanol etc. Now they are all jumping on to it quicker than a beachgoer jumping onto a towel after stepping in hot sand.

Change will happen regardless....
