One of the locals kindly informed me too try and avoid gulping down the water in the pond at the moment (I generally try to avoid drowning anyway...).

Somethings killed all the fish/nippers.... Don't know what, but there was definitely a lot of dead marine life about and a bad smell to boot. smelt like rotting seaweed but there was a slight tinge to the smell that suggested there was something else there as well....

Just thought everyone that heads down there on occasion might like to know. (I'm sure the locals know already)

I popped in their yesterday for a look and went in chest deep with the camera. I stunk afterwards. Not quite as bad as rotting seaweed here in lancelin in the middle of summer though.

Went in there again Sunday and noticing some inflammation popping up here and there on my feet and arms. Bit of a burning sensation.

Don't think the waters there are the best to be in for hours on end.. Does anyone have any further information about this? are there algae that cause the issue?

It appears the direct cause is still undertermined there is a number of departments going through their testing processes at the moment. ie Council, DEC, DOH, etc
