On news last night they explained there was an unusually huge/massive low pressure system in antartica which is pushing all the normal high pressure systems further north than they would usually be positioned this time of year. Hence winter type weather.

It is apparantly static and the weather will continue for foreseeable future!

The wind is broken

Pugs is going to get a bit nerdy (don't beat me up)

Data from the last 400,000 years suggests we are about to see some cooling: www.seabreeze.com.au/gallery/gallery.asp?imageid=843 .

However, some dumb arses have put lots of gases into the atmosphere which makes this very difficult to predict: www.seabreeze.com.au/gallery/gallery.asp?imageid=842

CO2 concentration used to follow temperature change (not drive it).

In a nut shell, strange things are happening! One thing is for sure - It is cold and there is no sea breeze

Yes, I know, none of this has anything to do with anything, it is all just BS

and they are still putting some more and they are getting even dumber

however with global warming Seabreezes should be stronger...
So in WA we may see stronger seabreeze but maybe not as frequent.
In other words you'll be always sailing in 4m but only a couple of time a month.

but I don't care as I have moved east (preceding da big change that will soon happen [}:)] )
huge fcking cyclone up north so massive swell down the coast. crazy southerly wind and freaking NE seabreeze..it's on its way!!!

back to the weather?
well if you haven't heard the gulf stream is slowing down so Europe will be in an ice age soon.
The Leeuwin current is slowing down too is it? well i don't know but who knows? so expect icebergs floating by soon

Here the forecast always look **. The graph is always 5 knots short but now I know it is part of a plot not to scare everybody in NSW ...(as the big wind armagedon is coming)

I didn't mention the bit about the gulf stream slowing... Is this more evidence that the interglacial period we are currently enjoying is coming to an end and we will return to a glacial period The evidence shows that interglacials are generally shortlived, peaking rapidly and gradually cooling over a 100,000 year period. I can relate to some of this

Perhaps this weather is just an anomaly and we wont be around to see things get really cold in the future

>>>Is this more evidence that the interglacial period we are currently enjoying is coming to an end and we will return to a glacial period <<<

Nup, the gulf stream has slowed down because there's an increase of fresh water flowing into the artic from all the melting glaciers, that stops the gulf stream sinking when it runs out of puff and returning from whence it came. If it can't get back, it don't come forward! So N.E. Europe is going to get colder because the earth is getting hotter. Don't think the Leeuwin current is affected the same way, but who knows.

Ahhh, I see...

NE Europe is already cold Will cooling in this part of the northern hemisphere then be great enough to see a reverse of the glacial melting

Just for some genaral info about NE Europe... Todays forcast, West coast of Sweden: -5 C on land, The more pleasent temperature of +5 C in the water . Last time I sailed was 2 weeks ago, I used a hood, gloves (normal dishwashing gloves are the best), boots and of course a drysuit as well. No worries, I was steaming! But it is VERY inconviniant, and it is F%¤!ing coold changing by the beach

Maybe my luck has changed finaly, usually when I turn up on the beach the wind dies, but now it sounds like the seabreeze is waiting for me to come back to west Oz! Take it easy guys, I will return in mid Jan together with the wind. I heard it was gonna be an extremly long seson this year, in fact it will never stop (unless you live in the Sidney area of course - where it will never begin )

If so, you'll end up with an oscillation, glacial melt stops, current starts again, melt starts again, current stops, melt stops, etc, etc.

Alright!

...stop, start, stop, start... It will be just like sailing on the river

Has anyone thought about 1. the intensity of the sun, and 2. the distance of the earth from the sun based on the "normal" path the Earth takes when revolving around the Sun I imagine neither would be static 3. Polar wander and magnetic reversals

As long as there is food, beer and wind... I'm sorted

Add tsunamis & earthquakes to that & you'll really freak me out!
Then there's always the possibility that the guys experimenting with the heavy atom smashes could cause an instability in space time and gobble up the earth with a blackhole!!

Hey, the ol' Earths axis is a bit wobbly anyway, maybe we can straighten it out Are black holes windy

if we were in a black hole the earth would shrink to the sixe of a golf ball due to the forces, your 12m would become a 0.0012mm

But if you think about it, everything would be in proportion to everything else, or we'd be dead, so despite everything being smaller than it was b4, we'd still be the same size relative to the earth

1. Sun's intensity wont change for a while yet i'd imagine, ozone and smog layers have a greater effect.
2. Seasonal, we arent drifting afaik.
3. Ssssssh, not many people know about magnetic reversal. Even fewer are able to predict the impact it will have on us and how long it will last. We are overdue for the reversal to occur though.
