I haven't been following it intently. But 2-3 months detention is probably reasonable. He's probably racked up 1 month already(?). So another 4-6 weeks should teach him (and others) a decent lesson.

Fair enough too.

Wonder how the negotiations went. Ok give us $20k and do 3 months, $50k and go home now. They know they'll sell the story for 10 times that and I guarantee the Indos have made sure they get their pound of flesh.

More than fair. If he gets 3 months he should consider himself lucky.
How thick are the parents to even think about discussing a media deal before the trial was complete!?!?!

trouble is when he comes back to Australia, Max Marsden or Harry M will carefully manage his career?, via the media's cheque book, but he'll be doing the midday show etc and become the "corey" that we have not had for a while, so much for the message but then if an instigator of the bombing gets of with such a light sentence then what message do we seek anyway, the moral high ground just sunk under its own weight.

our drug laws are super relaxed here, he wouldn't even get a smack on the wrist if he was in australia, dont know why you would even buy drugs in bali, he deserves 3 months just for being stupid, he will probably end up getting off with nothing, but in my opinion they shoud make an example out of him

Well not in Indonesia at least.
My bet is he will be straight back onto it as soon as he gets home though.
And now he will have the money to buy all he wants after he sells his story to the blabloids.

I had a small amount of sympathy with him initially until one tv report showed him doing 'gangsta' hand signals in the back of a police vehicle - then I thought he was just a w@nker and probably will not learn from this.

I think his parents should be sharing the cell with him! Its often true that the acorn does not fall far from the tree.

The deputy principal of the high school the Bali Boy was attending is probably thankful their job is now much less stressful.

OK, here's a question. What happened to the dealer he bought it off?

BTW, I also think 3 months will do him good.

Bali, the Island isn't Muslim....same cant be said for the rest of the country.

Having travelled around 10 major islands around Indo, (from Java, to Timor) I have never had a problem with Muslims.

Show respect and they will show respect back.
