Any breezers doing the Tough Mudder this coming weekend?

I've just seen the list of obstacles, should be fun

I did the Western Mudd Rush this year and last, but the Tough Mudder seems like a bit of a step up and not just cause it's twice the distance.

I was supposed to be in the 9am wave on saturday with the rest of my bootcamp but i stuffed up my registration and didnt realise until sunday at 9.05pm.. it closed at 9pm

Im not overly fussed as i had oxfam last weekend and my feet are blistered to hell, so now im official photographer for our team lol. What day and time is your wave?

Some things look hard hey?? I'm pretty fit but still about 15kgs overweight. I reckon i'd struggle with the stuff like the monkey bars / rings.

I've done some of the other events and they wouldnt compare lol. Unless your background is sasr / crossfit / firey / elite athelete it's going to push you hard but you'd get through mosy obstacles with team work i think

Our team has the 10:40am start on the Saturday.

Gotta say most of the obstacles don't have me worried, the monkey bars are pretty damn long though, but better than having the rings, those are way harder.
The quarter pipe run/climb will probably be the hardest, but that's what teams are for eh, and most people in these events are happy to lend a hand too.
The main thing for me is the distance of the whole event, I've slacked off with my distance running recently, so will be interesting to see how my stamina goes.

I train with a group who are 9 on Sunday. Rebel Fitness, your not part of that are you?

Im in a smaller group of 6 guys at 11 on Sunday (Whiley Old Mudders) Have trained for ages only to dislocate my Collar bone 5 weeks ago SO lets hope the strapping works..

The obstacles that scare me are the confined spaces, im claustrophobic as well

Any thing stand out about your team? Shirts etc so if i see you, i'll get some pics

The distance did worry me, as i cant run 20kms but i spoke to my trainer and he chose our wave as he found the other TM events he did over east often had a backlog at the obstacles. Particularly the tunnel ones. He said it wasnt even worth running at times.

JB, nah im with Ballistic bootcamp. My estate (trinity at alkimos) runs 2 free bootcamp sessions a week for residents through him

The tunnels do sound a bit hard! Imagine being stuck behind someone who is stuckb

Our shirts will have Willey old mudders on them . 5 out of shape 40 year olds and one super fit..Sadly im not the super fit one Say hi if you see us. Just ask for Rod or look for the shoulder strapping..I was going to wear my Go Pro but i cant even have my seat belt against my collar bone so that will be out.

My longest run is around 15 km and was to do the Freo half but my arm a few days before stopped that one

I think its wrong you have to pay for Spectators

I'm hoping the tough mudder organisers have sorted things out and there aren't large waiting times.
Last year on the Mudd Rush there were some huge waiting times, this year though they had them sorted out well and there was minimal waiting if any at the obstacles.

Our team name is 'U Mud Bro?'
Look for the troll face on black shirts.

We were all set to go on saturday, but one of the boys has made cover of this years firefighters calendar, so we're all off to throw ourselves into a crowd of screaming ladies at the calendar launch instead :)

My son completed the "Spartan Race" in South East Queensland earlier this year and at 16 yo came 13th in the under 18 age group.

If "Tough Mudder" is anything like "Spartan Race", you will be doing well just to complete.

Wow, young bloke did well!! I see the spartan has an ultra beast race @ 40kms.

Its coming to perth next july and they do a 7km sprint so that'd be awesome if its packed full of obstacles

Having a large property with some big hills and lots of dirt is a license to print money lol

How'd you blokes get on?

From a spectators POV most obstacles we could see didnt really look that hard or overly different from the other mud races. Heaps came unstuck on the monkey bars but i reckon i would have been lucky to get 4 bars. Everest didnt appear too slippery early on

I heard others say that "Mud mile" is often 1.6kms as opposed to 25m? Few people finished under 2 hours and some of those guys didnt look overly tired

Many lols from watching the 2 electroshock obstacles

My team split and as a mate and me struggled with knee's and cramping. Only 3;10 that is slow, but did every obstacle and made it through them all. Shoulder is f-cked up now
The electric shocks really sucked..
