What is it?

Tooth powder from India in which I have no commercial interest. First found at the markets in Freemantle and swear by it.

At my last (infrequent) visit to a dentist she asked me how long ago my teeth had been professionally cleaned, implying that it was recently and that I had been going to someone else behind her back.

It has one unfortunate drawback. At first use it tastes absolutely foul but the benefits are in the results, that and the fact that a container costs roughly $7 and lasts over a year!
