Thats amazing projection technology.
Two ideas come to mind when watching this. Incorporating this style of displays into traditional fireworks displays would really spice things up and get them away from the bigger is better thinking we have, for example the NYE celebrations on Sydney Harbour.
Second is the potential for advertisers. For example how would we feel if advertisers used clouds, cliffs, water in bays or eventually thin air to project advertisements for toothpaste or a new 4WD. As technology improves we may see the moon used as billboard.

That's what I was thinking too. I expect we'll see this type of stuff projected across the Harbour Bridge soon enough for NYE. I was really impressed with how creative it was.
