Ch7 reporter this morning being interviewed 'after' the tropical cyclone at cat3 had cleared Karratha , observed swatting at flys, and doing the good ol Aussie salute So the flys on the West Coast must be some tough buggers to be still hammering away after wind gust of over 200 kph went right through that area in Karratha
There is a fair chance west coast flies are nastier as the desert goes pretty close to the coast in the north west. On the east coast the desert is thousands of kilometres from the coast. Thus east coast flies are less aggressive. In the east coast bush there are pretty nasty march flies. They really sting when they bite you. Not many people go to the bush so march flies are not well known.
Tonz said.. this is actually worth thinking about, has any knob done scientific research on where the little schiets go or hide when you get weather like that.
