Personally I thought it was a very stick joke......................

BTW - it was a rip off from this skit http://player.video.news.com.au/theaustralian/?j7ER7GzDbjXujhfqkmni_8vEJj_lG_WB

At least we all know what the story on Today Tonight tonight will be

Once upon a time they were funny and scathing satirists. Now they are just attention seeking, nasty little w@nkers who dearly need a good smack in the mush for the heartless and selfish stunts they pull.

Stunts are NOT comedy, they are just attention grabbers and the sooner the Fakers er.. Chasers realise this the better. Better still - I wish they would just fk orf back under the rock they came from.

The show was going well until the last 2 gags. its a pity they have t ruin their own jokes. The Billy Connelly sketches last week were going really well till the execution

I just don't think they are funny anymore, they are certainly scraping the barrel trying (Hard) (very hard) to be funny..

Like so many shows once they get to about 2 or 3 seasons old they lose their appeal.. I don't think we will see much more of the chasers... And that's a good thing.

It's funny to satirise an idiot, biggot, stereotype, race and the list goes on...

Dying children... are definitly not on that list... I'm not some bleeding heart, but that actually wasn't funny in the slightest.

Just Morons and hate the idea they think that its all OK. Pity when they pulled that stunt breaching security in Sydney, yonks back, that one of the military, or cops didn't blow a hole in them both, right though empty goofy Mellon heads.
Real men dont do this sort of sh1t

Absolutely. Some of the gags, like this one, are at about the maturity level of a 12 year old, and a nasty 12 year old at that.

Immature as hell, and then have the balls to say that we don't get it. They can't see themselves. It doesn't seem to be all members of the cast though.

I did, however, think that the APEC stunt was spectacular. It wasn't actually that funny, but it didn't need to be. To have all of this supposedly top level security, parts of Sydney locked down, world leaders etc etc, and then they simply drive through it all, dressed as Osaba Bin Laden to boot, I mean that really shows just how lax the security really was. If it were 60 minutes doing it, but not dressed up,
they'd be applauded by all.

But really, I can't even think of anything lower than the above skit. Even if you do twist your perceptions to be like theirs it is only very slightly funny.

Borat was certainly offensive, but he didn't pick on sick, defenseless kids, and he was funny. He also didn't air on ABC. Sasha could also probably set things right, eventually, with anyone he made fun of. I don't think Chaser can do the same with this stunt.

When they first came to air,i thought their "comedy" was crap and low, not funny, however my children rallied to the chase. Poor kids they have never experienced "The Mavis Bramston Show" or shows such like.
Comedy/satire is very very sick in Australia. I put it down to the Purchasers of programs, because what is being presented as entertainment to the public is just media induced dumbing down.
Video games of the biff & bash type dont seem to help our society. I cant see much comedy in that Rove bloke, Spicks and Specks and i could go on and on.
Being an senior and smelly old fart my science of humor is better than my attempt at balance. LOL I wouldn't bother watching them, ever, i get more fun out of playing with landyachts.
Schooling doesn't teach the basics of language nowadays, so kids are generally strapped for understanding and pronunciation, so they form their own communications, then accepting a lower form of social intercourse.
Even news readers don't seem to have their mouths around lots of subjects, the people who write the story's seem to have little general or or practical knowledge of life in general.
To me its sad...but that's my rant.....

The sketch served its purpose. To provide mass free publicity for the show's new season. No such thing as bad publicity in these cases.

Personally, I didn't find it humorous but it's disappointing that people rise to the provocation with their usual manufactured outrage.

Always find it interesting how we decide what is untouchable - cute, furry animals and sick kids must be at the top of the list. Hmmm...how about cute, furry, sick kids - now there's a ratings winner!

As a parent Id quite happily take to them, complete f***wits!!!

If they spent some time in a childrens hospital to see how heart breaking it is, Im sure they would change their immature tune. But then again, probably not

I missed nearly the whole show, only to turn on the telly right as that sketch was starting...

Not impressed, I won't bother turning to that crap again...very bad taste...

I expect there'd be many parents who have lost kids, or are losing them to cancer that would've seen this..I feel for them, and doubt that one parent would find it anything but disgusting!

Their show should be axed!

Really, it was only the last line that went way past bad taste.
I actually thought the bit about the pencil case was quite amusing. I must have cos I chuckled a bit.
I also thought the stick instead of Zac Efron was even mildly amusing.

The last line was over the top because of it's obvious deep offence to anyone who is in or has been in that sort of situation.
But then that's what they do for a living so those who watch it have to expect it.
Just for the record, I didn't watch it and I never do because I know what to expect. But the fact that they put the show on means a lot of people must enjoy that sort of thing.

I watched a show this morning that had an interview with a media reporter...he summed it up pretty well I think. He also thought that it was in bad taste, yet mentioned that it was that sort of sketch that has given those boys the fame they're enjoying.

He mentioned that - previously they were in a less-prominent timeslot & going way back, nearly obsolete where their fanbase could watch them, enjoy their humour without the backlash of general population. Now that they're enjoying the power of having such a broad audience, they're going to have to "adjust their game-plan" to suit the masses...or "dumb-it-down a little" or they won't last.

...his words, not mine, although I totally agree.

I'd name the show...and the reporter (or 'media-commentator' I should've said), but I wasn't paying that much attention...due to the exact reasons you mention. Only turned the telly on for 5 mins to get a sport update...

Perhaps I should've just checked for the sport update online...I mean there's so little moral corruption here on the net!

And you managed to spell them both wrong. Hate to see you tackle a full sentence.

Occasionally the chaser boys take things too far - this is undoubtedly one of those times - but for the most part they're spot on. They might not be laugh-out-loud funny but the pick targets that people hate and play on the reasons that we hate them. Who else has taken on Today Tonight, for example? Or perhaps posters to this thread are fans of TT?
