I have been looking for a half/ cuddy cabin power boat for a while but there hasn't been any here in WA that suit my needs.

Im wondering if anyone has any experience in transporting a boat from over east and what company they used or am I better off driving over?

Boat will be around 5 to 6 meters

Found this comment quite interesting from that thread smicko

Re: New/Used Boat prices in Australia and Importing a boat

Import DUTY for dealers?
Quarantine costs?
GST?
Youll have to adapt trailers etc to Australian standards.
You will find it hard to send the boat back if there is a problem with it.

Wages in USD are lower Greg. Its not that they get paid less; its all relevant.

The boat yard pays $2000 a month rent in the US; The boat yard pays $4000 a month rent in Australia.

Someone here might be paid $16 p/h; a can of coke is $2.50 in a deli.
Someone in the US is paid $8 p/h in the equivalent but their cans of coke $1.20 in a deli

The US has just had a couple a runs of quantitative easing which has left the Aussie dollar out of whack. The yanks are in the ****, they are dumping stock as many companies go broke reflected in their unemployment rate.
Currently overseas purchases are quite low; because the Aussie dollar is way out of whack with the US because they printed a few trillion USD the Aussie dollars we have will pour into the US via internet purchases etc.
Interest rates will sky rocket to compensate. In a few years Australia will be in strife but not as bad as the US is currently. They're desperate and they're dumping stock as many go broke.

You win, but you will lose

Could be worth checking out the cost of second hand boats from the US too Torch, even it was just the boat and you had a trailer built locally.
