Ok, Perth crew will know that we have been wave starved for at least 10 weeks...
I am currently recovering from ankle surgery, and have been out of the water for that long... and I'm way passed cranky seeing as I feel I'm at least another 4 weeks away from being any where near ready - and by then I'll be a real gumby again and will have to start off down the beach to kook it for a few surfs.
Had 10 months out of the surf about 12 years ago after crushing a vertebrae in a cycling accident...
I hear some blokes 'gave it away' for 10 years or more, then got back into it... some well, some not so well...
What's your longest (non voluntary) spell out of the water?
8 months snowboarding OS. Damn that first day with sand between your toes and paddeling out feels better than sex.........but its been awhile since either so not sure anymore
For me 7 and a half years. From mid 01 til late 08--had to spend a summer on a boogie board to get used to the ocean again but on a sup now.Lovin it and gettin better all the time!!!!!!YEEHAR
^^^ I always disregarded people who complained of a bad back... until I had one. Took about 2.5yrs after the accident for everyday pain to go. 12 years on, if I spend too long sitting at a desk, or say a day in the garden, I cop it. Regular swimming is the only thing that keeps it in check...
