Just wondering if you would call today (Saturday 2nd September) a seabeeze? It seemed to have the characteristics of one? Thats if a seabreeze has any? Does anyone know? My thoughts were it's offshore in the morning and the sun heats up the land and when it cools down the breeze blows onshore? But to get a nice stiff breeze it needs to be about 27 degrees?

Looked like a seabreeze to me... At this time of year, I cop out and call it a "thermal"

And what about today? Other than the lack of wind strength, it sure seems to resemble a "seabreeze"

As long as the breeze has been created by the thermal effect, it is a seabreeze, what you may be referring to is the summer pattern of seabreezes, which occur, virtually everyday, that usually doesn't occur till the inland temperatures have heated to a certain level and the differential with the water temp of the indean ocean creates a summer pattern of seabreezes. So the last couple of sw may have been seabreezes, just untypical, and as you'll notice not very regular.

haven't almost all of the "seabreezes" in the last few weeks actually been southerly wind filling in after a frontal pattern has passed? ie not actually seabreeze/thermal based?

Saturday and sunday both started off shore then swung round mid to late morning. Looked like a seabreeze patern to me. But today was bit different started southerly, may be got a touch of west in it just after lunch then started getting a bit of east in it mid to late afternoon.
