Hey guys/girls

Wondering if anyone out there can help me,for the past couple of summers mainly every time i get out of the water (24 + deg days) and go home as soon as i start to relax i start to get cold,to the point that i feel sick and start to shiver.I go hot and cold and the shakes last pretty much all night or until i fall sleep.when i wake up im fine.
I stretch before i surf ,drink warm drinks before hand ,even taking vitamins tablets.nothing works.
Ive taking a shower to warm myself up but doesnt work. (should i be taking cold showers instead?).
Im not a cold frog and it only happens after a surf,not a swim .
I know it has something to do with my blood flow but i want to know why and how to prevent it from happening.
any ideas would be great.

Blood pressure or hypoglycemia??

Since its only happening after surfing- dont stop surfing

Seriously though- how about getting a series of overnight tests done with a blood pressure monitor thingo,
Do the test without swimming, with swimming, with surfing, with nookie etc.
"purely for reference and research purposes" would be hard for the missus to knock back

Pretty sure most health insurance funds cough up for the monitor hire and tests as long as they are referred by your G.P.

Sounds like iron deficiency, but definitely see a doctor.

No lost then, but really body temp is important and a sign like this means you should make out a will leaving all your gear to seabreeze before its to late.

Does he sail near Sydney airport? Sounds like possible side effects of chemtrail inhalation.

Low blood sugar, or hypoglycemia, after exercise can also lead to feeling chilled or experiencing cold hands and feet. As people have suggested, speak to a doctor. At worst you rule out something that could be life threatening if not treated correctly, at best they'll just say it's completely normal and send you on your way.

Even with a water temp of 24 it's probably mild hypothermia?

A hot shower isn't necessarily the best thing if you might be cold enough to have mild or full blown hypothermia. The body has done a good job of minimising heat loss and has been providing blood to your core at the expense of your extremities while you are surfing plus the paddling etc is helping you generate extra body heat. Then you go and have a hot shower and confuse the body into thinking its warm again, if it's a really hot shower the blood flows back to the skin and opens the pores up and tries to shed heat because it's so hot. But you are still suffering from hypothermia and your body is now trying to unload heat, that's a problem. Plus you have stopped surfing and stopped generating all that extra heat.

I will see a doctor i think its a core thing going on .maybe hypoglycemia but ive have had a blood sugar test for diabetes a few months ago and came up fine.
at least im not the only one having this issue.
its deff a pain in the arse.
