After looking at all those photos of Pozo , Tariffa etc I was a little alarmed that people weren't aware that they were endangering their lives by being in such close proximity to wind farms

http://waubrafoundation.com.au/~waubra/Y2NpZD0xJmNhaWQ9MTMmYWlkPSZjcmM9MTQ0OTg1MjMyOA%3D%3D

Thanks goodness for the right minded people of Waubra.

So where would you like the nuclear power plants to go then? or is it NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard)

I'm sure the people of ****ushima would prefer wind power.

OK. Let's say for arguments sake that windfarms are causing

chronic severe sleep deprivation;
acute hypertensive crises;
new onset hypertension;
heart attacks (including Tako Tsubo episodes);
worsening control of preexisting and previously stable medical problems such as angina, hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes, migraines, tinnitus, depression, and post traumatic stress disorder;
severe depression, with suicidal ideation;
development of irreversible memory dysfunction, tinnitus, and hyperacusis.

How? How does a windmill cause that? I just want something remotely plausible, excluding the placebo effect.

Because I reckon if people were told beforehand that they may experience positive effects they would.

Yeah grumps takin the pith,
hangin around wind turbines hasn't affected me at all

They did an article about Waubra on triple Jay hack about it and I'm still laughing.

Mmm, Pozo, that's what wind looks like

would like to know that myself.

must say, however, I stayed at a Coral Bay caravan park and there are two twin blade power generators just over the hill.
You could definately hear, and were sometimes distracted by, the constant whoosh, whoosh sound. Its slow, but its constant.

So maybe that would upset your sleep a bit (didnt mine). but it might.

The people of Pozo, Tariffa etc probably aren't aware they're endangering their lives either. Lucky there are 'think tanks' to inform them how they should be feeling.

I wish I could remember where I saw it but there was a great article a little while ago about how the health effects related to living near a wind farm are inversely proportional to the amount of monetary compensation residents receive.

Well the wind farms aren't working! We're still stuck with the same crap wind this winter as we got last winter! Maybe the production rate from these farms slows down over winter?

latest research shown that noise produced by cars and traffic could have also adverse effect..
I suggest that this brave Waubra people will stand now against roads and remove all in 10 km radius from any home around.
But for that donated money they could purchase noise meter to measure noise level created by closest tree in vicinity in strong wing and compare to sound level when source is 10 km away.

I'd be more cautious about the location of your meter board & electrical appliances in your home than a windtower in your backyard.

I've lived under an airport flight path where everything on the shelves shook when planes went over and you had to wait for it to pass until continuing your conversation. bothered me for the first couple of days then, you get used to it.
I expect wind farms maybe different due to the constant nature of the noise, but if the wind is that strong, you wouldn't think you'd hear it unless you were right underneath them?

Friggin' simple explaination, jeeze you people don't listen to what you are being told.

It's not the windturbines directly as such, but they way they atomise the chemtrails and spread them around more

We have a few wind farms around here and you can hear them from a couple of hundred metres away, basically a loud 'swoosh' sound. The argument has gone from killing the OBPs - to the sound creating internal physical & mental health issues. I don't rule-out that they 'might' cause stress if someone close-by is a nervy person & lays awake listening for the sounds, which can lead to health problems, but I doubt that the wind turbines directly cause physical health issues. I have a mate who's full-time job is maintaining the turbine (climbed his 500th tower a couple of weeks ago) - healthy/fit, sleeps well & has none of the symptoms outlined in that link.

The only thing I have against windfarms and the like is the areas they are located usually have more expensive electricity.

"Please explain?" - more expensive electricity near windfarms?
This will be interesting....

It is interesting. South Australia generates more energy from wind farms than any other state. South Australia also has more expensive electricity than any other state.

Denmark generates a lot of it's power from windmills. Electricity is more expensive in Denmark than it's neighbours like Sweden and Germany.

Windmills look like they cost a lot and need a regular and probably expensive maintenance. Compared to a coal fired power station the power a wind farm generates would be expensive.

Possibly it is the case but explanation is astonishing easy.
Refer to first post.
Every single wind turbine installation require again and again:
-funding whole research on effects on human health, animal protection
- consents and consultation, litigation
-" bribes" so called fees for "unhappy" farmers and other inhabitants
- public relation expenditure and advertising

Left to their own devices , wind turbine power could be very cost effective by material costs and technology, standardized installation.
Situation is similar to that in nuclear technology - where electricity produced is simply " to cheap to be metered" but somehow the most expensive.

Just wait for City Council to introduce "solar tax" since price of solar panels are already at dangerously low price - means people may run out of the tax on everything with their own free energy.
BTW prices for solar panel prices dropped below $1 per Watt or $1000 per 1 KW !
which means that 1 kWh cost you .....3 cents ( calculated for solar panel life time)

Meanwhile in China they've got light poles with their own mini renewable power station

You could attach that small wind turbine on top of your Electric Vehicle - ie Mitsubishi -iMev and drive for free
The faster you go, more wind to turn your turbine and recharge your battery !

Ive seen those solar phones on the freeway over here, they seem to work. Ive never used one but they could stick them on power poles as well. Maybe too small tho.

I have been thinking about attaching a solar panel to the back of my trousers to harness the energy available from the sun shining out of my own arse

In the UK they are closing down the old nukes, and trying to work out where to build the new ones.

In Essex, UK there is an old Magnox reactor at Bradwell that's been there since the mid-1950s... and it's being taken apart and not replaced.

The locals want another one. They've lived with one for over 50 years and a new one would create jobs in the area. However, the government seems keen to build the new generation elsewhere (we have no idea why).

So yes, some local areas still want nukes and want new ones to be built in their back yards.

Incidentally, behind the old nuke they are sticking up a wind farm... which the locals are quite happy about as well.

better attach wind turbine to your arse to harness this smelly wind ( there is much more power in that that shine of your brilliance)

Now that makes sense - those chemtrails are spreading like wild fire.
Like the molecules that get shattered in microwaves. Shattered molecules are littering the world causing famines & tsunamis & all manner of deadly tumors. They are so troublesome they are even killing off natural wildlife. Certain proof - species extinction has skyrocketed since the introduction of microwaves. Now even the poor old Tassie Devil is about to go - in a place so remote you would think they could never be effected.

Time to introduce a microwave tax reckon. Before its too late.
