Here's one (bit like the sci-fi thread since im not very original)

What will windsurfing be like in FIFTY yrs time?

I believe that they will have invented:
SEVEN piece masts.
Boards with Cup holders.
A device that stops the nose of your board getting whammied (one that works).
Reasonably priced fins.
Booms with internet access and mp3 player.
European styling.

That got banned in 2047...
After a vicious 'ban sailor aid' whiplash.

I like it tho. Wouldnt mind a button to switch off brain before attempting fowrad loops.

Boards will weigh 1-2kg
You'll only need one sail to cover all wind strengths
People will still be arguing about whether to open the vent screw or not

By 2057 windsurfing will have finally died out after all the stick in the muds have gone and the greater consciousness has realised the superiority of kiteboarding

Windsurfers will ride "unstrapped", in the mistaken belief that it makes you look cooler

The average age range out on the water will be 3 - 120yrs old

Comfy footstraps wont soak up water.

Wind will be non existent - magnetic pressure regions will be used to propel us.

Sails will be made of a new age metal that folds with one twist (like those car sun shields).

We'll run out of names for maneuvers.

I'll still be alive and still sailing (if the magnetic fields are good)

Freeride boards will be that fast we will be able to sail to maui and back in an afternoon, so jumps at this speed will be in the 100's of meters not 10's, but the rig will be that good you will be in complete control all the time, triple no handed fowards will be an entry level trick. there will be people sailing in the middle of the ocean not just near the beaches doing massive jumps off the ocean swells in 50knots. half the sailors on the water will be girls and by law have to where bikini's. and there will be still guys on "92" model gear saying is the best thing they have ever sailed.

All windsurfing is restricted to indoor pools with fans because UV levels now have the same intensity as a microwave oven.
