When did 'trolling' become trolls? I know it has, but back way-back-when 'trolling' was when you were baiting someone to get a reaction, hence the name. It seems to have started with network news groups, so its quite an old term.

Now, people seem to think its all about little creatures, i.e. trolls.

I guess that's the internet.

Just like the word "google" and where it came from?

"...a play on the word "googol," a mathematical term for the number represented by the numeral 1 followed by 100 zeros"

I guess that's how much money they want to achieve one day

Pretty sure "trolling" is another word for "trawling".

Pretty sure you're right.

Trawling is trying to catch "fish" by dragging a net or lure, which I would think to be closer to what "trolls" on the interweb forums do.

Trolls live under bridges, and eat passers by.

Trawling is with a net, trolling is with bait or lure, waiting for a bite.

Green thumb from me.

ps: that movie looks sick, but giant trolls?! Where did that come from? They're meant to be little creatures living under a bridge

Know your meme - trolling

In other news - trolling is on the rise, maybe that's what's causing global warming?

trawling (baiting for a response) was how i remember seeing it used back in Lynx days (1992-ish?) but somehow it evolved??
